Would an entry that was a hand-made hoe to work the ground to sew the seeds that were period in a period manner to produce a period product that was then used as the raw materials to build something?
I have not yet formulated a solid opinion on judging by category. My initial impression is that some folks are far too married to them. We had a debate at a Quals recently where a judge spent a VERY long time detailing why she thought an entry was not in the right category, and used it as a consideration for her score. But there were other judges and viewers that said it was appropriately marked.I agree that a worn, rough tunic that is entered in court garb would be judged harsher then if it was in fighting garb, but if it blurs the line, then I say let it go, and use to closest to it.
