I agree with Rewth. You want something simple. It needs to grab attention and present its message with one glance. The graphic you use should be limited to one or two colors. One is best, though. Especially if you are having them professionally printed where you might have to pay by the color. The information beyond the name should be limited to contact info and a tag-line. If you're doing something on the back I would make it a small map with directions.
If you want to present more information I would suggest creating a tri-fold brochure. It gives you the chance to put in more information and pictures. Good design is still important but you will have a little more room to work with.
