stock event proposal - 2008/06/17 03:23
I had this idea about a party to commemorate my upcoming tenth year in Amtgard, and I want you all to join me at our normal stock event site for:
Zumat’s tenth year anniversary mega celebration super extravaganza once in a lifetime festival, a not to be missed event, a turbo gala of premier excitement and entertainment… stock!
The idea is a simple event, scheduled to do the things in Amtgard that I love to do.
After having pitched this idea for months now, and after having asked people such as Kat Superrrrwow (make me piñatas) and Cruz (get me site contact info) to do shit for me for this thing, it occurs to me that I have overlooked one major factor in setting this silly thing in motion.
I actually have no idea how to put in a bid for an event…
However, I was never one to be daunted by the facts, and I figured that I would put my bid up here so that you guys can help me work it into something correct.
Anyway,

I’m not sure about the exact date, but I was thinking either the third or last weekend in august. I’m not sure when school starts, or the proximity to other events, and I would like some feedback about these dates from you guys.
Schedule would run like this:
First a summary, and then an explanation.
Friday noon: Gate opens and “The Most Ninja Assassin Game EvAr!” (more on that in a second) starts
Friday 6:00pm-ish: Food
Friday 9:00pm-ish: ‘smores and bullshit
Saturday 9:00am-ish: Breakfast
Saturday 10:30am-ish: Three-way (possibly more ways than that) boat battles.
Saturday 1:00pm-ish: lunch!
Saturday after lunch: ditching, duh…
Saturday 3:30pm-ish: Shinobi Rice War: The Battlegame
Saturday 6:00pm-ish: Dinner, and Amtgard fundraiser “Beat Dragoons ‘till they break”
Saturday 9:00pm-ish: “The Most Ninja Assassin Game EvAr!” (more on that in a second, really) ends. And we start hanging out.
Sunday morning: go the eff home, get a shower.
Gates open Friday at noon. I figure that the Zumat’s tenth year anniversary mega celebration super extravaganza once in a lifetime festival, a not to be missed event, a turbo gala of premier excitement and entertainment… stock! event is a two-day affair, so people only got to take a Friday off, and can reasonably pry themselves out of bed in time to do some ditching in before dinner.
After gate opens, “The Most Ninja Assassin Game EvAr!” (I’ll get to it, I swear) game starts, other than that, it’s just set up and ditching time.
Dinner will be sixish and will be something like burgers from the grill and hot dogs and shit. Simple meals are my favorite.
There’s always more daylight for ditching after that. So ditching (and assassinations) until the sun goes down, at which point, we’ll either get us a fire going (assuming no fire ban) or we’ll use a camp stove and we’ll make some damn smores. Jazzel and the CD kids were making them at ‘rakis, and I want to do it again. We’ll maybe sit around that fire (or in the ‘goon pavilion if no fires are allowed) and talk shit at one another, tell some lies, swap some stories, mock rafiki, try not to get assassinated… you get the idea.
Saturday, I’ll have a breakfast laid out. I was thinking something nostalgic like cereal and a banana.
Then we’ll play those old triangular boat battles I love so much. Depending on the number of people who want to play, we may switch the configuration a little, but I love boat battles.
At 1:00ish, we’ll have a simple lunch. It may be something as simple as PB & J’s with chips and apples. Mmm that actually sounds pretty good right now.
After that? Ditching of course! How could I be at Amtgard without it?
At 3:30ish, we’ll start Shinobi Rice War: The Battlegame. think of every bad ninja movie, ever. There’s your game. I’ll explain more on it after the explanation of “The Most Ninja Assassin Game EvAr!”.
(However, this is getting long, so I may do the game explanations in a different post.)
6:00 is dinner, and as we eat dinner, we’ll do the piñata fundraiser “Beat Dragoons ‘till they break”. Where you’ll be able to see Dragoon shaped piñatas broken and dashed apart viciously for a good cause.
And when it gets dark, we’ll award something to the winner of “The Most Ninja Assassin Game EvAr!”, though I really think that playing in that is going to be its own reward.
Party out the rest of the night, get up Sunday, go home.
Anybody got anything else they’d like to see?
I was thinking like, a five dollar gate fee. (which I might even waive, depending on how much the initial cost of the event hurts me.) cheap events are good things, and I’d like to see as many people there as possible.
I do want to do the same stock event site, pawnee or whatever its name is, (and cruz is already getting me contact info) so be sure to plan for it.
Yeah, that went long. I’ll post Shinobi Rice War: The Battlegame and “The Most Ninja Assassin Game EvAr!” as soon as I get more time. (but i will get to them both, very soon)
