Nihao, Amtgard!
Well, we’re finally here. The last Imperial Weekend Report. I feel relieved and sad and hopeful all at the same time. Really. I double-checked, it’s not just gas.
Relieved: because, thank whatever god you think would suit me best, it’s over. The last couple of months have been stressful and busy, and I look forward to a break. I’m literally going to go try and kill myself on a river the week after rakis. Nothin’ like a little near-death to shrug off some stress...
Sad: because whatever else the reign was, it was (for me) still pretty entertaining. From Our first game day in DM to us singing “kiss the girl” in court at Salt Wars to midreign to our trip to Iowa to us playing “Shinobi Rice Bell” yesterday in the NH, everyone seemed to remember that Amtgard works best when it is silly, and we all played silly. I’m gonna miss being the instigator of that, I think.
Hopeful: because I love this damn game, and I see that Moss has some silly-ass shit lined up. I look forward to playing in his reign. Also, I’m hopeful for Steel Valley and Rivermoor as they push their way through learning how to be a principality on the road to kingdom. I’m hopeful for Desert Winds, as they bid for their new kingdom, and learn what it’s like to be counted as a sovereign entity. I am hopeful because the doc says that the rash will go away if I keep using the cream… eh, ahem.
Rakis is nigh. Come send Cullum and me off with a non-firearm bang.
The winner of the “please the Emperor and get your gate fee knocked down to ten bucks” contest is CD. I wanted to give it to everybody, especially IMD (Lathara and the gang rocked my theme) but in the end, CD really needs it more than IMD. Consider this an act of Imperial charity.
Gate will be given a list of CD members.
Congrats Crimson Dawn, I hope this helps get more of you to rakis.
And if you had any fun at all in this reign, go thank Cullum, face to face. Without him the reign would not have happened.
I’d like to take this opportunity to extend to him a heartfelt Thank You. Do the same, he deserves it.
I’d also like to thank Rafiki, Folcwine, Lief, Grendel, Atlas, Azrael and anyone else I may forgetting that travelled extensively with us and made multiple game days. You guys made it better than it would have been otherwise.
I don’t think I got anything else. I’ll see you at Rakis.
