March 2005 Allthing- Nebraska/Iowa Principality - 2005/02/17 08:18 I'm reposting the issues of the Allthing, so that we can have separate discussions on each type of issue without comments getting lost in the shuffle between issues.

Issue #9 Text:

Allthing Proposal #9
The Iron Mountains Sponsored provinces of:
The Duchy of Querna Tema
The Shire of Olympus
wish to join together to form a principality in the Western reaches of the Empire.

Eastern Nebraska and Iowa have strong and growing Amtgard and are well on their way to kingdom status. This is a logical step and we should help them with a yes vote. Also once they have this step on the journey to kingdomhood and have proved they can work together other groups in the area will be much more interested in joining them.

Re:March 2005 Allthing- Nebraska/Iowa Principality - 2005/02/17 08:18 for those of us that are too lazy to look it up, could you post what being a principality actually means to both these topics? how does being a principality effect them, what do they get out of it? what are the additional responsibilities? for that matter, what are the requirements? Re:March 2005 Allthing- Nebraska/Iowa Principality - 2005/02/17 08:18 The jist of it is that the groups would band together, similarly to the way the core does. They would have a pseudo-floating crown system established like the core does, and they can give out some better titles, and awards. But if you want the whole version, you should probably go read the Principalities appendix in the Corpora by clicking here

That said, I'm all for it. I personally think that the NE/IA group has a strong enough leader base to make this principality prosper and succeed in eventually becoming a kingdom in their own right.

Re:March 2005 Allthing- Nebraska/Iowa Principality - 2005/02/17 08:18 Actually the system allows better titles than a duchy but numbered awards are the same. The difference is that the Prince/Princess of a principality can award players within the principality but outside the duchy sized group.

Re:March 2005 Allthing- Nebraska/Iowa Principality - 2005/02/17 08:18 Another big benefit is the establishment of a regional government. We're able to work together for the development of all the groups involved as well as have a bigger pool to pull from for helping new groups get established.

Re:March 2005 Allthing- Nebraska/Iowa Principality - 2005/02/17 08:18 Absolutely. In fact that's the main purpose. I was just clarifying that the awards difference was smaller then Orlando had suggested.

Re:March 2005 Allthing- Nebraska/Iowa Principality - 2005/02/17 08:18 add to that the prospect of becoming a kingdom in our own right. we've already got corpora and non-profit status in the works...
