Re:Axe heads - 2005/08/26 21:44No, Grendel. That'd be totally legal, I'd think. People knock shields out of the way to score a hit all the time, and polearms lever each other out of the way for an opening, as well. Unless you ripped the shield off their arm, I wouldn't call it grappling any day of the week.
Or if you grabbed their shirt and kneed 'em. That too.Quiet

Re:Axe heads - 2005/08/26 21:58i have in my head that "trapping or pinning" an opponant or thier gear was specifically forbidden under 6.0. but under 7.0 i can't seem to find anything regarding it. i can say that doing so is prolly frowned upon greatly in circle lands, but i know for a fact that certain chapters not only allow it, but encourage it.
so no, i wouldn't call it grappling. but, under that same section: 14) Grappling with an opponent; shield bashing; rough, dangerous, or offensive physical contact is strictly prohibited and can result in being banned from play indefinitely.
so... proceed with caution."But right now I'm a little concerned about my pants, since I don't know where they are." - Valathina Nailo

Re:Axe heads - 2005/08/27 12:45hell no, if you ripped the shield off of some guys arm by hooking it with an axe than that guy is a puss for not being able to keep ahold of his weapon. it should be no different than knocking a sword out of someone's hand. and for that guy who mocked me on shitting down necks, come to our field and you will have your neck shit down accordingly. Re:Axe heads - 2005/08/28 01:40Bad Loki, no biscuit.
I was thinking more of ripping a shield off somebody's arm, sled-shield style, not the foam blank punchgrip ones.Quiet

Re:Axe heads - 2005/08/28 09:25 That was great Zios! I would like to thank you and Kain for venturing down to CD to visit us. I would have thought that maybe a few of your other NHer’s would have taken the opportunity to come down and back what they are saying. Regardless we were happy all the same that you made the trip, sorry again for the low turn out. We normally have more people on the field on any given day, hope you guys had fun anyway.Revelation 6:8 - And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. Re:Axe heads - 2005/08/28 12:30first are we talking about 1-handed or 2. one handed are fun for the roleplayers but not the ditch. Loki as for not being affected i know diffrent. Sir Bolt from BL had a nasty 2h axe that was beutiful. he used it great and got by sword and board. he also crushed flourintine, so if yu think axes are not practicle travel and find someone that is efficient and capable of it ,then answer. you probably just faced a bunch of newbies or some one not to proficent."if they wont take the first shot, hit harded, if that dosent work ,hit cleaner. if that dosent work ,practice.

Re:Axe heads - 2005/08/29 14:04Azreal: you not going to see any of the Templar spend money to travel for just a battlegame, plus we had a really good turn out with several rouges and knights wich amde for good fights.
orion: yeah, now that i think of it all the ppl who use axes tend to be newbies but i made a 2hand axe and my friends and i have used that. we get all roudy and dont have any rules about head shots baseball swings and the axe is frankly still useless. i hope that i have a chance to see someone who can kill profficiently with an axe sometime soon.I'm the mighty Lion in the thicket who be spying on the wicked- Shabaz the Diciple

If you were at Glitterbeards, I was at your field. I don't remember you fighting in the booty tourney, or you would have had your chance (I didn't do any fighting after that, I'm too blind and my fighting glasses were broken during the tourney). However, if you want to do a full class honor duel, I'd be more that happy to let you pick out which class I play from the classes I have credits in (I'm really getting too old to keep up with all you children anyway). We'll be out again next Rakis, for sure, or maybe earlier if time and money allow.Khanar Ekorn-Svarta
