Greetings Amtgard!
I am pleased to announce that I will be your autocrat for this coming Rakis. We have alot of exciting things that we are planning for this year!
The Vikings are coming! The Vikings are coming!
This year, we're doing a viking themed event, to include Viking games, wearing beards, training dragons, and drinking out of horns! The Scheduled will be updated here and on the Rakis website that Refeki will be launching soon!
Here is a few things that we will be planning:
Jugging Uniform Contest - Can your team create the best Jugging Uniform? Wanna Prove it? Prizes will be given out for the Best Jugging Team Uniforms. The rules are simple,
Amtgard Style,
Amtgard Legal,
your Team must fight in the Jugging Tourney,
and you may only be on one Jugging Team.
Pie-In-The-Face: We will be running it all the way to right before the event, if you have never played it before, here is how it works:
You may purchase points (usually a penny a point) for anyone to be pied (at Rakis) Throughout the year. (Rafeki is working on something to be able to make payments online  ) Those who have the most points (the top 5-10 people) will be getting a pie in the face at Rakis. But wait Dougie, What if I wanna pie that guy!?!?! Well, youll have your chance! The pies at the event are then auctioned off to the highest bidder(s) who then have the honor to smear, spread, or otherwise plop a pie into the recipient face!
Best of the Best: Bring your best A&S projects and put them to the test! (Seeking Judges!)
Also, get ready for boat battles, dragon slaying, hammer crunching and shield breaking in the battlegames and activities that Hiro and Yoto have in the works, its going to be a blast!
It will be a combined effort to make the event a success, and volunteers will be needed for various things including setting up games, Gate shifts, food help, trash management, and cleanup, if you are interested, please send me a private message and i will get you to the proper Crat.
