What: Rakis 2011: Back to basics When: June 15-19, 2011 Who: You, me, and two hundred and fifty plus people swinging foam and living the life! Fee: 25 bucks Where: Just outside Trinidad, Co. Directions below:
From the north: 1. Head south on I-25 S to Trinidad 2. Take exit 14B toward Trinidad State Jr College 3. Merge onto E Colorado Ave 4. Turn left at Nevada Ave
From the south
1. Head north on I-25 N to Trinidad 2. Take exit 13B for Main St 3. Slight right at W Main St 4. Take the 1st left 5. Continue straight onto Nevada Ave
Directions from Nevada Ave.
From Nevada Ave take hwy 12 west to longs canyon rd.(county rd 18.3) roughly 10 miles west of trinidad. The road is well mark on the hwy. Turn left on Longs canyon road(county rd 18.3) and proceed across the bridge. The road goes from pavement to a good compact dirt road. Look for the signs that will lead you to the sight, there will be many. The sight is about 7 miles from hwy 12.
Site info: This site has lots of green grass so if you have been to beaver ranch, you won't have to deal with the dust bowl of rocks. The site is also much, much flatter then beaver ranch so no huge hills. This site has a number of great points, and is a great camping site. There are currently showers on site, and we are getting extra port-o-potties with daily maintenance to make sure they are as nice as can be.
Event schedule: Wednesday, June 15th -2pm site opens
Thursday, June 16th -1pm RP tavern opens -2pm Battlegame -5pm Feast -RP tavern closes at dark for safety reasons
Friday, June 17th -10am breakfast -10:30 BotB sign-ins -11am RP tavern opens -11:25am BotB sign-ins close -11:30am BotB starts -2pm battlegame -5pm Feast -6pm Bardic -RP tavern closes at dark for safety reasons
Saturday, June 18th -10am Breakfast -11:30am Jugging sign-ins start -12:30pm Juggers are briefed -1pm Jugging starts -3pm RP Tavern opens -5pm Feast -5pm RP tavern closes -6pm Court -After Court Rakis party
Sunday, June 19th It's been fun, but you can't stay...

I was thinking about inviting a few old LARP friends of mine to Rakis, (Old NERO-style players, basically created their own game out in Aurora). In addition to the fee for entry, would they also need to provide any forms or permission slips of some sort?
I haven't seen these folks in close to 3 years now, so i'd like to see it as a chance to let 'em visit and see what we're about.

But yeah, since this'll be my first Rakis, i'm pretty much open to anything. I'm definitely going to the RP Tavern, and i'm definitely going to be fighting. Then i'll definitely be drinking (Nothing alchoholic o'course) and causing a ruckus.
I'd like to see some Assassin games (And the subsequent Manhunt that SHOULD follow).

What questions do you have in mind?
