Hi Shidub,
The closest events you're going to see if you are in the Colorado area are going to be Salt Wars (May), Rakis (June), and Harvest War (August/September).
Typically, Salt Wars tends to run about 25 per person for gate fee. It is a tent camping event, and includes all meals. It is held in Provo, UT at a place called Castle Park. The site is a completely dry site, and no alcohol is permitted on the premises. Typically, there are a number of full-class battlegames involving the stone castle that is on the grounds, court, bardics, and a variety of other activities. I don't know if DW has put up a website for it yet, so the info probably hasn't been completely finalized for the event at this point.
Rakis is the local event in the Denver area, and it occurs usually in about mid-June. The cost is typically 25 dollars. It is located in Conifer, CO, about 30-45 minutes outside of south Denver to the West. It is held at Beaver Ranch on the side of a mountain. This one also will have a variety of battlegames, and even has an RP Tavern if you are interested in more in-depth questing. There is also a sponsored jugging tournament, which, if you've never seen jugging, is about the most intense game that is played in Amtgard. Rakis includes at least one feast, with a number of other donation feasts that are usually provided. It is primarily a tent camping event, although there are cabins available through a bid process if you are interested in trying to obtain one. The RP Tavern also provides food for purchase throughout the weekend.
I'm afraid I don't know a lot about Harvest War, as I haven't been to it in some years. It is hosted in Albuquerque, NM by the Pegasus Valley group. It tends to be a bit smaller (50+ people), and there doesn't tend to be a large showing from the Colorado area to the event in recent years. I couldn't tell you info about costs or anything along those lines.
Hopefully that answers some of your questions. Feel free to ask more if there were others that weren't covered.
