Our game will include every land and every member who cares to play along with us! This rules forum will include the game write-up, is open for clarifications, and questions on game play. The Rules will be posted here, but because of it’s length, there will also be a PDF for download in the files section of the IM website. Please feel free to print copies of the game rules to share with your park members!

Use your brilliant deductive skills to figure out which suspicious character killed Lady Jazzel and how and where the murder was committed!
Yes, that is right, this reign will be based on the very popular Clue game and the movie Clue. All rules that the game of Clue uses will be used, but with twists and turns making it possible in the world of Amtgard. The game itself has 4 main parts, they are:
1) Mrs. Body: Lady Jazzel 2) 8 Suspects: They are Colonel Mustard, Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, Mr. Green, Mrs. White, Mrs. Peacock, the Butler, and the French Maid. 3) Rooms: In the board game they have 9 rooms; in our version we will only have 5. These are: IMD, Northern Holdfast, Crimson Dawn, Darkmoon, and South Gate. 4) Weapons: In the board game there are 6 weapons; in our version we will have 8 (more things to hit you with; I mean come on it is Amtgard). These are: Pipe Wrench, Flail, Candle Stick, Crossbow, Dagger, Lead Pipe, Golf Club, PoleAxe
With the above amount of items it will equal 21, as in the original game. The difference is since we have tons more players than the board game, we will have 2 cards for each item, for a total of 42 cards. This will make it more fun and work within the Empire.
The Game Start:
When the time comes to start the game (Stepping up at Rakis), the ghostly body of Lady Jazzel will shuffle the cards and draw one from each deck, and their duplicates, and add them to the envelope marked “Solution Cards.” Lady Jazzel will then be the keeper of them from that point forward. No one other than the deceased will know who killed her (not even the Emperor). Also at Rakis the 8 Suspects will be introduced, 6 of them will be also known as my guards for the reign (How dare they kill my wife! Death to the traitor). We will be using a specific place designed for the game on the IM forum’s which will contain the suspect’s sheet you can download and use.
Handing Out Cards:
Cards are your pieces to the puzzle that will help you figure out the who, the what, and the where. Cards will be handed out with the following rules.
1) Cards will be handed out on imperial game days to the winner(s) of the designated battle games, or to an individual that most influenced the game through enthusiasm and creative game play. 2) Each imperial battle game will provide 1 or 2 cards to the winner(s) of that game. 3) At no time can cards be given away to anyone that did not participate in the battle games. 4) At no time can you announce to the forums what cards you possess. 5) Cards can be shown to anyone you desire, but remember there will be prizes awarded to the person or persons who finally figure out who killed Mrs. Body so you may not want to be to forthcoming with your cards. 6) Lastly you may at no time give false information on what cards you have just to throw others off the trail or provoke others to make an “Accusation” (more on accusations later) which, if wrong, will remove them from the game.
Suggestions:
Suggestions are made to help players gain more knowledge of who killed Lady Jazzel with what item, in which land. All suggestions will be made to the “Clue” forum that will be created just for this game. Suggestions will be made using the following rules:
1) Suggestions can only be made once all lands have had an imperial game day. This will be about 5 weeks into the game. 2) Suggestions must be submitted by 11:59PM Monday evening directly following an imperial game day. 3) Each player can only make one suggestion per game day. 4) Until all cards have been handed out you must have been in attendance and participated in the last game day in the land that you are suggesting the crime was committed. (i.e. You cannot say the crime happened in IMD if you did not travel there that weekend) 5) Once all cards have been handed out you can make suggestions about any land to gain more clues. 6) Suggestions must be announced publicly to the forum for all to see. 7) The suggestion should be worded like “I suggest that the crime was committed in IMD by Mr. Green with the flail.” 8) When a suggestion is made 1 of 3 responses will be given by the ghostly apparition; a) If the Suggestion is incorrect, Lady Jazzel will post to the populace on the forum “I am showing 1 card” then she will email the person directly who made the suggestion and reveal one of the cards that was incorrect. (e.g. Grendel from NH makes the suggestion to the forum that Mr. Green in NH with the Crossbow. Mrs. Body will reply to the populace on the forum “I am showing 1 card”, then email only to Grendel the crossbow card that has not been given out to any lands at that time). b) If the cards from the Suggestion are already in play in different lands Lady Jazzel will post to the forum “One of the 3 suggested cards was given out to (this land) on (this date)”. Mrs. Body will then email the person directly and show the exact card that was given out. (e.g. Talisin from IMD makes the suggestion to the forum that Colonel Mustard in IMD with the candle stick. Mrs. Body will reply to the populace on the forum “One of the 3 suggested cards was given out to (this land) on (this date)”. Then she will email Talisin directly and show one of the suggested cards that have been given out. c) If the Suggestion is correct Lady Jazzel will email to that person only “You may have unraveled the plot!” 9) If the correct answer is discovered a formal “Accusation” must be made. Formal accusations can only be made during the accusation period (more on accusations later).
Accusations:
Accusations are a formal guess on who, where, and what killed my beloved wife. The guidelines for making accusations are as follows:
1) Accusations can only be made during the designated accusation period. This period will be the last 5 weeks of the reign. 2) Accusations can be made about any land from any land during the accusation period. Traveling is not required for accusations. 3) Accusations must be made only at your designated park on that last Imperial game day visit. 4) All accusations will be posted to the IM forum by the Monarchy. a) If you are incorrect Lady Jazzel will reply to the forum “YOU’RE DEAD”. From that point forward you will only be able to play a ghost at your acquired monster level. b) If you supply the correct answer, Lady Jazzel will announce to the forum “My Spirit Can Now Rest” which will be the indication that someone has guessed correctly but that person will not be announced at that time but at our stepping down. 5) The first 6 players who correctly solve the mystery will be announced and awarded a prize at our stepping down (You must be present to receive your gift, however if unforeseen circumstances arise special instruction will be given to still allow the prize to be awarded then picked up within the next 2 weeks or will be forfeited.)
Game Items:
Below is a list of the weapons that could have been used to murder my wife.
1) All items while in this reign will have special abilities and can be used on imperial game day or with clearance from the local monarchy. 2) All items will be awarded during the first 5 weeks of game play to the winning person or team. 3) No two items may go to one person. 4) Any class may use the game items.
Weapons:
1) Pipe Wrench – 1 Handed weapon, must show plumbers crack. a. Action: Must yell “Thunk!” in your best white trash voice. Wounds kill b. Use: One life per game 2) Flail – rope – 1 Handed flail a. Action: Must sing “disaaaaaaarm!” in an opera voice. Disarms opponent. Opponent must throw weapon to ground on contact. b. Use: Once per life 3) Candle Stick – 1 Handed club a. Action: Wielder must yell “Flame on” which creates two fireballs to throw at the opponent b. Use: Once per life 4) Crossbow – gun – 1 Handed crossbow, user must wear green tights, and Robin Hood hat. a. Action: Armor piercing arrows, user has to utter “loose!” per arrow b. Use: 5 arrows per life. 5) Champagne bottle – Throwing weapon a. Action: User must announce in an English butler voice “how about some bubbly?” Acts as a lost spell. When struck opponent must “act drunk” for a 100 count b. Use: 2 per life 6) Churchwarden – Lead Pipe – 2 Handed churchwarden pipe a. Action: Level 3 Legend b. Use: Once per game 7) Golf Club – 1 Handed weapon a. Action: indestructible; 1 Handed red weapon when you announce “FORE” before every swing b. Use: Unlimited 8) PoleAxe – 2 Handed sling blade used as a red weapon a. Action: 2 Handed white weapon when announced “some people call it a sling blade, hmm, mmm” b. Five prizes not six. He's good. After the eyes went numb from all of the detail Almost missed that. This is cool. Am looking forward to it. Re:Rules Discussion - 2009/06/18 15:07I'm having problems getting the file to upload properly; every time I try, the system either hangs on the upload, or recognizes it as a 0 byte file, so there isn't anything to pull up. I've tried from two different computers with no success. I'll have to do a bit of troubleshooting to try and get the PDF up. Once it is up, I'll post here to let everyone know where to find it. Just to be clear everyone is allowed to play, no matter what your role in this reign is. The reason for that is the only person that knows what is in the” Confidential” folder is Lady Jazzel. No one, including myself has any other information on what is in there so it is a level playing field for all. Now Sir Z and I will have some knowledge on what cards will be given out in the different lands so sooner or later we would have a very educated guess, for this reason we will not be trying to figure the crime. Everyone else is fair game, so starting this weekend it is game on.
Please come out to CL on the 4th and NH on the 5th to be the first to get some cards.
