It's coming to be time for Rakis, and that will mean people will be asking all kinds of things... well I'm one of those people who want something. I would very much like for you, yes you, to come help with the Rakis Security Team this year.
All shifts are two hours. What does this mean for you; you ask... well it means that not only can you get a low interest rate but most shifts are open right now! All shifts will have a shift leader, and after 6pm hopefully 2 shift leaders. I will always be on duty, but I can only see so much and very much need your help. I am trying to fill all the shifts listed below with shift leaders.
Shift leaders: A person on duty to keep an eye out for illegal actives, drugs, fights, minors drinking, ETC. Most of all just make sure that it is a safe event that everyone can have fun at.
If you wish to pick a shift or shifts please tell me the day and time, I will reply to you just to conform.
If that does not work for you, I would love for you to be Militia.
Militia: Is someone who is willing to be on call at most times of the event in case we were to encounter a situation that needs more than one person to handle.

This year Yoto is doing the actual game part of the tavern, so I'm the kitchen staff. I am able to be kitchen staff AND help out security - but I'm for the most part tied to the tavern premises.

I want to make sure folks understand what the security stuff means. this is not you, out there with a radio, fighting off drunken assholes, alone in the dark.
security doesn't require all that much. you walk around for 2 hours, keep your eye out for violations, talk to people, basically wander around with your eyes open.
I did security for the first time last Rakis. I walked around, talked on a radio, told people to smoke in their vehicles, watched for under age drinkers (I found none) it's relatively easy going. I didn't have any trouble from folks.
In the case someone does give you shit or a hard time, they answer to Hannibal, he backs you up. We don't want you trying to solve things on your own.
if that's not enough then I step in and kick people off site. I have no problem calling police and having people removed. This is about safety for everybody, I don't anticipate any issues, but if they come up we get them resolved as a team, I don't want anyone put into a unsafe or uncomfortable place.
if somebody does give you shit, starts to throw their weight around, makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, then walk away, we don't want anyone in that situation. you walk away, use the radio, and Hannibal (and I, if necessary) will come address the situation.Strike First.
