What is our rate for instilling new blood vs your park's golden era of high recruitment? I can only think of a hand full of people who have made it past 4 weeks here since I've been here. What worked then that is not happening now? Is there any way (kingdom wide) we can increase acquisition? Then the next question is how do we turn acquisition into retention?

3. What is your happiest memory that you will never forget in Amtgard? THere are soo many 1000 people fighting, in the rain, with the hay bails, at Clan at 10th year. Bringing my first born son to show off at Clan a couple years later, Hank and I first day out at Riversend playing peanut
4. What is your worst memory that you will never forget in Amtgard? WHene fact they Hank/Kez ha I was told after thd been rushed to the hospital because they thought he had broken his neck
5. What skills have you gained both (Sciences? Social? etc.) My carrier was brought on by amtgard. I became a theatrical costumer because of this game, I learned all men weren't jerks.. even married the best one.
6. What do you look forward to most during your parks Amtgard days? Seeing friends, making new ones, and helping where I can
7. Is there anything you would like to learn (Amtgard related) but never did? leatherworking... well lots of things really, I am a one trick pony
8. What is your favorite event and why? Salt Wars.. I like the kiddie pool, I can bring my family
9. What do you like most about Amtgard as a whole? The close relationships built. I am still friends with the same people I grew up with. For someone who moved as often as I did that continuity is important, as are relationships that can span decades.
10. What do you dislike most about Amtgard as a whole? The back-bitting, the one-upmanship, the need for revenge, I think we all would be better off sticking to finding the good, strenghtening one another, and forgiviness... I have learned a lot about forgiviness too
11. What are your favorite game types? I like games where there is some role play. 20 years, you would think I would be a decent figher, but alas no... but I can ham it up with the best of them.
12. What are your least favorite game types? I like dittching, just not aaallll day long
13. Do you ever regret starting this game? NO, not ever... not after my sister died, not after half the Lions I loved left me, not after a bad event where all I heard was "gee we disliked your sister, but we are sorry she is gone, not ever. This game is part of my life, I could not leave it even if I wanted too.

3. What is your happiest memory that you will never forget in Amtgard? Jan 17, 2009 - the day rivermoor came down to formally invite centerpoint into the IM/RM.
4. What is your worst memory that you will never forget in Amtgard? I don't really have any bad memories. Although at one point I took a junk stab that hurt for three days. Certainly won't forget that.
5. What skills have you gained both (Sciences? Social? etc.) Aside from an overall level of maturity gained from taking the reins of my park and being a leader, I've learned a lot about who I am, and how I got that way. I've also learned a lot about chainmail.
6. What do you look forward to most during your parks Amtgard days? Depends on the day, usually it's Kill your killer, but for the week or two after I pick up a level in a class, the battlegames can't begin fast enough.
7. Is there anything you would like to learn (Amtgard related) but never did? Fighting. I'm terrible at it, and despite efforts to become a better fighter, I can't seem to rise above my current skill level.
8. What is your favorite event and why? Haven't been to many events. So far, Rivermoor Coronation I tops my list.
9. What do you like most about Amtgard as a whole? The sense of camaraderie and family that stems from the shared geekines of my local park.
10. What do you dislike most about Amtgard as a whole? Stupid people making stupid decisions for stupid reasons. See my rants about Park heraldry.
11. What are your favorite game types? Anything where I can use Magic. Magic is the crutch that brings me level with the good fighters.
12. What are your least favorite game types? Militia, never have liked it, and never really thought about why
13. Do you ever regret starting this game? There was a time, last fall, when I did. The feeling, I have since discovered, stemmed from burnout after effectively serving 18 months as local Sheriff.

8. What is your favorite event and why? It used to be Rakis... but due to the dryness of the event, Salt Wars lends itself better to decent bardics. So it really has become my favorite. Plus it has become both ditch monkey AND flurb friendly. I WISH WE COULD JUGG AT SALT WARS
9. What do you like most about Amtgard as a whole? the fact that you get to meet so many different people and experience so many things. There is always something for everyone at an event. I love the people. The people are what makes this game.
10. What do you dislike most about Amtgard as a whole? The drama, the "hate", and the cliques. whether you realize it or not, many companies and households judge and almost ostracize other people. We all act like we are so much better than everyone else. This is supposed to be a game. Why not just put the ego aside and realize that everyone brings something to this game, and we all need different people- EVEN THE FLURBS- to make this game so great. THAT is what this game is missing.

Considering the socially awkward homeschool kid I was before you nerds, I am much better around humanoids now. I also learned I can sew semi-decently.

I've always had the most fun at Salt Wars. The site is amazing and the people rock my socks off.

The freedom we have to just be us. Doesn't matter if its a fatman who never seems to have a shirt, a drunk dork who sings to trees about his wang or a nerdy white girl who talks a little too much. We can all be simply us and know its good enough for the company we're in. We're all nerds, outcasts, weirdos and annoying. Its why we're like a big family.
