Mastah Tourneys - 2008/08/20 21:39Listen up people I as your Imperial Champion have set the date for the 6th annual Sapling Mastah and the 1st ever Hatchling tourney.
It will be held in Dark Moon on October 4th and will start at noon. This will be a fighting and A&S tourney, they will be run independently from each other. So if you have too many orders of the warrior and want compete in the Hatchling tourney, you may do so and vice versa. Any competitor with three or less orders in ether event may participate.
I am now taking donations for our noobs, if you can spare garb, cores, noodle, art supplies, craft tools, etc. Please let me know, I would like to see everyone who competes walk away with something to better their game be it fighting or A&S.
I also need volunteers to judge both competitions, so step up take part of the next generation of Amtgarders. I do have a few donations but they are minimal, so come on and support our noobs with your old garb, weapons, or art /craft supplies. I would like every participant to walk away with something to better their game.
Now for a quick clarification on the hatchling tourney, this will be a single entry A&S tourney, that’s right. If you have three orders of the dragon or less all you need to enter is one item. Please keep in mind that if I do not have enough judges this tournament will still take place and will be decided by populace opinion. Keep this in mind when you decide on what item you choose to enter. If it is a food entry make enough for everyone, beverage same thing plus make sure it is non-alcoholic. Written entries will be discouraged as will performances, there will not be enough time for everyone to read or listen to it. You are going to want to enter something that can be held up for everyone to see, applaud for it, and move on. Stuff like garb, armor, 2d and 3dart. And as for judges or reeves, now that I know that I am going. I will help out in anyway I can.

Agreed. Promoting the arts should include what are (for most people) the most difficult areas to master, those of writing and performing (i.e. communicating). To downplay those types of entries promotes only glitz, not a true, well-rounded A&S artisan and talent base in our Empire.
Please reconsider, and do not limit anyone or their artistic ability because it may take a little extra time. There will be enough judges.
I also believe this A&S portion of the tourney should be open to anyone who has fewer than 3 Dragons, OR 3 Owls, OR 3 garbers. Just because a person doesn't have a particular KIND of order, does not mean they are newbies, they are simply not experienced in that type of artistry.. and we should not attempt to disenfranchise folks any more than we already do by establishing unfair or biased criteria in the event promotion. If you create an Owl-type entry, even you are a Master Dragon with 2 Owls, you should be allowed to enter that Owl-type entry. Same for garb/garber. The point, afterall, is to promote those who wish to learn and improve at what they don't already know, is it not?
I shall be there to assist and provide guidance as well, and will have some items to donate.
