Fall 08 Althing Proposal #1: Rakis Day Trip Fee. Discuss. - 2008/08/26 01:21 Proposal #1: Rakis day trip fee

Add the following section to the Corpora:

3.G. Day trippers who are only attending the last day of Rakis may not be charged the full price of the event. They will be charged $10 per person for a day tripping fee.

Rationale: Make the fee for the last day of Rakis $10 per person, there are many, many day trippers who can only go the last day, but paying the whole fee is outragous.

Re:Fall 08 Althing Proposal #1: Rakis Day Trip Fee. Discuss. - 2008/08/26 09:35 This is a great idea, in theory. but it is one that is best left up to the discretion of the Autocrat of Rakis.

Nevermind that the total event fee for Rakis is no more than you would pay to go to a movie, if you get the giant popcorn and barrel of soda.

The simple fact is that events cost money. I understand times are tough cash wise, believe me, but our event costs are well below market value for 3 days worth of entertainment and the number of feasts you can expect. I also understand the Day trippers issues, but honestly in our CORPORA? why?

Re:Fall 08 Althing Proposal #1: Rakis Day Trip Fee. Discuss. - 2008/08/26 14:12 I'm putting together a proposal to run Rakis, and with the sites and costs involved, I don't see how this would work for next year, unless no one day tripped an all came for the whole event.

I've never been a daytripper. the few times I've thought about it I've decided "fuck it, I'll go at least friday and saturday" and I've never regretted it.

I can't support this proposal.

Re:Fall 08 Althing Proposal #1: Rakis Day Trip Fee. Discuss. - 2008/08/26 20:20 I do not think that it is feasible to allow people to come to Rakis at a lower gate fee. There are so many variables that affect how much money is made at Rakis (weather, gas prices, location of site, and such) and adding another one threatens the possibility of the event failing to pay for itself one day. Re:Fall 08 Althing Proposal #1: Rakis Day Trip Fee. Discuss. - 2008/08/27 04:46 As for myself, it has always been Can I make it to the majority of the event or not. Then I go or don't. It's that simple. But for someone such as my wife who would like to come MID event, visit for a few hours and has to go home, it simply isn't going to happen at full price. How many others does that happen with?
Should it be part of the Corpora? Probably not, but some leeway by the autocrat in the pricing should be available for a variety of reasons. Work, cost, home and other obligations to name a few. It's something to think about.

But to come for the big saturday this seems good. I support this proposal...
