Re:Firestone Fighter Practice - 2008/08/11 23:20 The intention is for a park to appear in longmont. however, after speaking with Moss n Meddy while in trinidad this weekend, some other options have presented themselves that hadn't occured to us. So we are not announcing anything just yet. as it is, i don't expect to see anything more than a fighter practice on thursdays til september-ish.

as a side note... there's absolutely no political motivation for wanting a new park at all. jsut some of us further north can't make it to an established park in a reasonable enough time to do the things we want to do lately. We also have a couple folks that appear quite interestedin a park in that region that would be a new boost to IM numbers as a whole, but may not be up for a longer distance commute to a gme theyv'e never played before. its really a matter of convenience.

and damnit. i wanna be able to hold office. which lately, if it isn't in my backyard means its unlikely for me to be able to.

I really don't care what your motivation is, long as a park is there I'm down.

Re:Firestone Fighter Practice - 2008/08/13 08:16 Actually,

I would like to make best use of this opportunity. Sean I'm sorry. I should not give you shit about that reign, it's wrong of me to beat you up for doing what was your best intention and your approach which was suited to your style. I may not understand or agree with it, but I have no control of what others do, I only control how I choose to take what comes and my actions an thoughts.

Not agreeing or not understanding you or your actions does not mean I should put your face in it or harrass you for it. I have no right to do so, and it's not right for me to treat you that way. There is no 'right way' or 'wrong way'. As I learn acceptance I must also accept myself and others, and not project my faults on you (or anyone else) and then resent you for it. That is not compassion.

I'm choosing now to turn myself around and I say good for you man, follow your heart I will not judge, do what you enjoy I hope that you have fun with it.

Good luck man, I wish success and fun for you and yours.

Re:Firestone Fighter Practice - 2008/08/13 14:53 meh. it ain't no thang.

i think a lot of the issues surrounding that reign were due to misunderstanding of loyal's stated goal of "doin nothing". the intention was for the reign as a whole to focus only on what needed to be done. not to bog down with a billion projects that were never accomplished. and most importantly, to say "fuck it" to anything that got in the way of accomplishing what we wanted to accomplish, especially drama.

the drama portion of things ended up not panning out too well due to the giant ball of shit that exploded over loyal's attendance. but everything else actualy went extremely well. we successfully moved to a brand new park. something the NH had a lot of very sketchy opinions of initially. we held a very well received stock event and let someone that needed to to prove himself run it. we also did a lot to help heal the rift between the NH and IMD (which i still deny the existence of <grin> and tried to cut down the gossip/rumor crap that was making things difficult in the empire as a whole.

at the same time we had a phenomenal champion, that while he may have had his own issues occasionally, managed to run some amazingly well received games almost weekly. there was also a parade appearance organized and a huge number of A+S workshops as well, all handled completley by other folks during the reign.

all of this ultimately proved the point loyal was intending to impress upon me... a chapter is run by the whole of its populace, not just the guy in charge. if you have a good foundation, then there is no reason to view the political positions as a lot of work. It was my first foray into a leadership (rather than records) office and i was a bit concerned about it. loyal on the other hand had almost 4 straight years of offices behind him, building a shire into a duchy (that would become a kingdom only a year n a half later, and something most folks in the IM are unaware of his involvement in).

its a shame that it was tarnished in the minds of a lot of the populace due to the mess surrounding attendance. i'm actually quite proud of that reign and consider it to have been a success. unfortunately i also learned a few other lessons... you can't avoid the drama, and unfortunately THAT is what will cause folks in office to burn out, not the workload as i originally thought. also, that you must communicate a little more clearly the full intentions of your actions, not state them in a manner you find humorous.

so all told, i'm ok with a bit of ribbing over it. its far better to laugh at ones mistakes than anything. it doesn't change the things i learned and the things i know that we did right.

Re:Firestone Fighter Practice - 2008/08/15 03:22 Well... that was cold.

Thanks again to everyone who attended, we beat last week's number by three, despite the rainy cold.

Re:Firestone Fighter Practice - 2008/08/15 17:18 Yes, thanks to all who attended!!! We were able to run ditch battles as opposed to just hold the field. It was a good time !

That is because you have no body fat, I didn't think the temp was actually that bad, until the rain came and I had to take the kiddies home.

Re:Firestone Fighter Practice - 2008/08/15 21:32 Bunny, I don't want to hear your nonsense! You have less body fat than I do! You were however holding a baby wrapped in a blanket, and I -am- a complete pansy when it comes to cold.

As resident pansy expert, I will confirm that you are a complete pansy.

P.S. Happy Birthday
