Garb Help, etc. - 2005/05/05 16:21 So, I'm planning on making some new garb stuffs, and my first idea that I'm putting into play, is a pancho/shawl kinda thing. I'm pointing the material at the end, but I want it to look really rough, IE I want to shred the edges, make em look sharp and battle/travel worn, how would I do this first off, and also hjow would I do this and keep it from fraying itself to death? Re:Garb Help, etc. - 2005/05/06 10:30 you would be wrong...

thread title: Intentionally aging and distressing fabric.

it basically comes down to sewing in a low visibility locking stick and then washing or manually fraying the edge. but bear in mind that well aged fabric doesn't necesarily jsut have raw edges. it is jsut dirty and roughed up.

Re:Garb Help, etc. - 2005/05/06 13:27 Yeah, trying to give the ends that tattered-anime look. If you'll be at the park sunday, I can bring one of my quick doodles to show you. Founder of The Black Fox Tribe

I think I know what you're talking about, but I think we might be able to achieve 'that' look a little bit differently...we'll discuss on Sunday...

Re:Garb Help, etc. - 2005/05/09 07:40 Sorry mangs...

I wish I could have made it up there.

Grendel's B-Day party broke me...

We didn't even get out of there until about 3:30, and had to go up to Stephanie's parents place for M's day, yet. I called to see if peeps were willing to go to dinner, but no one seemed interested, so we just headed home afterwards.

I should be up there next weekend, though...both days. Saturday, to help Fenrir Move, and Sunday to play in the NH . I'll take a look at it then.
