first, welcome. second off, grand junction is dead as far as the last i've heard. since you live in an area with no park close by (the closest I know of is trinidad, at 259 miles away), your best shot would probably be to try and start one. Which is difficult. You can also check with desert winds, one of our principalities, and see if they have anything closer.
If you start your own park, it is doable, depending on the challenge you are up for.
There are people who would probably travel down there occasionally (couple times a year) to lend a hand, teach, and hang out.
if you really are interested in starting a park, first things first. Get your friends to come try it out. See if you can get a car full of friends out to Trinidad. Or Canon City. Canon city is about the same distance from you, and more of us Denver/fort collins folk can make it there.
Get them interested, find a place to do it in Durango, and then pimp it out. Schools, gaming/comic shops, etc.
If you want, and can get people up there, i'll round up some folks from Fort Collins and bring em to Canon city to meet up and hang out and show ya some Amtgard fun.
