Announcement of intent - long - 2008/07/01 18:56
Okay, I realize not everyone will be able to make it to Midreign,
especially with the weather and all. So I'm posting my announcement
flyer here for people who won't be able to get one at the park.
The "IC" cutesy part!
To ALL Noble Fae,,,, humans, monsters and other random beings!
Comes now Hwesta Lalaith Cul-Fin, Faerie Noble and Quinn. Her years
of pleasurable company amongst the humans and other beings in the
lands of Amtgard have driven her to desire to reward all citizens
with riches, title and glories!..>
To that end, she wishes to provide a reign of fun, games and war!
Humans love to battle, one another and other beings! Hwesta has
scoured history and fable to find a fine way to provide such
frivolity for all!. .
For the Winter Court time, she will invite Fae magiks into the lands
of Rivermoor to provide a contest of skill, wits and action. For the
holidays, we shall enjoy the opportunity for one and all to gain
treasure and title that empowers them to magistracy over the lands.
Mabon, a hunt to celebrate coronation,Samhain, a fine fest to enjoy the winter's imminence,
Solstice, welcoming in winter and crowing the Winter King,
Imbolg, furthering the fires of knowledge and power,
Oestra, welcoming back spring and crowning a new Monarch for these
fine lands.
Fabulous weapons and items of power will be scattered across the
lands. By taking possession of them citizens may gain their power
and the Titles they bear.*******************************************
The OOC informational Part.
The "game" itself will be a series of quests/battlegames held in each
park in the Principality over the next reign. There will
be "artifacts" distributed at each event that can then be used by the
wielder in future games. (and hopefully allowed in the local park's
games for the reign!) Upon winning an artifact, the player and their
team will also win a title related to the event. There will be an
endgame battlegame at the end of the reign to determine the winner,
who will be rewarded a prize.
We'll also be encouraging each group's events, and plan on attending
in each park each month. We hope to be able to work with the
individual calendars to foster each park's activities. Each part of
our Principality brings great flavor and style to Amtgard here in the
Midwest. We want to truly celebrate your efforts.
Our required events of a Crown Qualification tourney, Scheduled
Althing and Weapon Master/Dragon Master will be up for bids to each
park interested in hosting. Also If you wish to be involved in
hosting one of the event days, please feel free to contact me as soon
as possible. Facilities often book well in advance, and any
locations will need to be decided up soon.
For fundraisers during the reign, we'll have ongoing raffles, games
and activities to help fund event site costs. The winter weather is
such a challenge, and having somewhere warm to go can make all the
difference! If everyone chips in a buck here and there, we can all
enjoy a cozier winter. (skip that pack of smokes or that bottle of
Mountain Dew and give the money to Amtgard!) We plan on scheduled
indoors events being at no or minimal cost to the individual players.
We're hoping to get an opportunity to perform some demos during the
reign, and look forward to each park gaining growth and recognition.
Contacts with local young-adult groups, schools and clubs will be
made to generate interest. If you are a member of, or know of any
organization that would be interested in having Amtgard visit, please
contact me so that I can add them to my listing.
Our numbers are something that will certainly affect how the COM
regards us. And more players make for more fun!
I'm confident that our Corpora committee will be well ahead of the
game in moving us closer to our Kingdom bid. Vicereine Savaen
assures me that they have made great strides in deciding our future
corpora's direction. With luck we'll be approved on the legislative
aspect of our Principality soon.
Finally, we're excited by the folks who have already said they want
to be involved and help as members of the Faerie court (monsters,
npcs and general help!). We look forward to working with anyone who
wants to get involved and join in by helping host events, provide
support, host a post-revel, play a monster or just pitch in. The
more the merrier! Our court will do it's best to let the glamour of
the Fae shine on one and all!

Oh, I didn't mention I'm running with Sir Yoto as my Regent consort, -
and to fit in with the reign he'll be Sir someone else for the IC
cutesyness of it. But he'll still give you the wonder Yoto-esque
service. He has always been a fan and supporter of A&S endeavors and
this will give him a chance to share his love of the arts with you
all!
Someone did ask "running with your spouse? Are you nuts?" But to be
honest, we've worked together so often in the past, and manage to
live together pretty successfully, so this is a piece of cake. We're
really looking forward to it and think we'll all have a lot of fun.
