Rakis's Best of the Best 2008 Tournament Results - 2008/06/22 18:54 I would like to thank everyone that entered into Rakis's Best of the Best tournament this year, and I would like to thank my other judges: Azrael of Dragonspine and Desybal of Neverwinter, as well as my stenographer, comedic relief, and bracket organizer, Forest. It was wonderful to see entries come from, quite literally, from coast to coast! Keluric of the Principality of Westmarch took first place with his expertly executed leather armor, Azazel of Neverwinter took second place with her well-constructed heraldric banner, and Menwy of the Iron Mountains took third with her aesthetically designed black dress. All the entrants efforts were amazing however. Congratulations to everyone that entered! I certainly enjoyed meeting everyone and seeing their work!

Re:Rakis's Best of the Best 2008 Tournament Results - 2008/06/24 15:51 It is a great event and I am glad I got to help with it. I hope next year more people take the opportunity to enter. It is a great learning experience to hear the judges go over an item in detail...even if they like the word "wonky"

Re:Rakis's Best of the Best 2008 Tournament Results - 2008/06/27 21:59 I would like to thank Casca and the other judges for a good, fair assessment of my piece. I hadn't considered entering it until I was there and the competition was being set up. The assessment of the piece with me being there to receive the criticisms was probably the best experience in a formal setting that I have ever had.

I really think that a workshop that functioned much like the interview portion of the tournament (with or without the head-to-heads) could be of great value to people serious about improving their craft. Khanar Ekorn-Svarta
