What do we do?! - 2008/05/02 19:17i made a recent trip to walmart to pick up some fun noodle from so more sword making projects. but I noticed that the noodle has once again bin made smaller. acording to Azrael (Reve in training) this new noodle no longer fits the size requirements needed to make safe useable weapons. what can we do?there is no good or evil, only the ambitions of man

And even tho Toys R Us and Kord currently have some of the old noodle that is legal, said supply will eventually run out. And what do we do at that time. Or for that matter, what do those of us that do not have access to either of those two do now? Anyone have an answer? Do we go back to rolled foam (much heavier swords), use the new noodle and add a layer or more of rolled(again, heavier) or (--put your suggestion here--)
This is a legitimate question you have posted and I believe we need solid answers or at least proposals.

What do we do?! - 2008/05/14 13:18wait a year or two. they made a bunch of crap noodle for us about 5 or so years ago and we all got worried. it was replaced again with the better foam in a year. in the meantime, lets get with meddy, order some mc1900 and just use rolled foam swords. an mc short sword would work wonders for your footwork. z ps. you can push you thumb through regular noodle without much effort. is the new stuff just more crumbly, or is it actually weaker?

Also, are the weaker noodles that people are getting actually funnoodle brand, or are they one of the knock-off brands? There are usually plenty of different noodle suppliers available, so if one doesn't work, you can always look in other areas.
I've been doing some research to try and get ahold of some MC1900, but unfortunately, it is somewhat cost prohibitive in most cases for shipping, and I haven't had much luck finding a local retailer. I'll keep looking and see if I can come up with something.Kord

I checked my wal mart and while some of the noodles in the bin (mostly the blue color) were aboult a quarter inch under diameter (i had measuring tape with me) the others met the 2.5 inch requirement and were in very good shape for use...they held up to my thumb well indeed. I'm in parker and the noodle out here seems to be of good quality.

What do we do?! - 2008/05/15 22:55I live out in thornton i saw the noodle and wasnt sure about it's, it was Azrael that mentioned its shortened size i just took the liberty of posting the problem in the intrest of player safty. its still durable but over all its just seams different. im not sure if were just over analizing the situation or it realy should be adressed. this is just whare i stand on this issue.there is no good or evil, only the ambitions of man
