THREE KINGDOMS WAR - 2008/06/06 03:14
War of the Three Kingdoms
Welcome to Rakis! This year’s main battle will represent the war of the Three Kingdoms. Three teams will vie to control the most territory and thus defeat their enemies. The following rules relate to the main battlegame which will take place on Saturday afternoon:
Teams: There will be Three teams, Cao Wei (Blue), Shu Han (Red), and Dong Wu (Yellow), each lead by a Captain and Denoted by their color. Teams will be picked at the beginning of the game.
All players should separate themselves in to five (5) person units. These units may have no more than one (1) spellcaster of any type, and one bow. There is no limit to other classes and no restrictions on levels.
Team captains will choose teams as follows:
-The Blue team will choose two five-person units. -The Red Team will select one of those units. -The remaining unit becomes part of the Yellow Team. -The Red team will then choose two five-person units. -The Yellow Team will select one of those units. -The remaining unit becomes part of the Blue team -The Yellow Team will choose two five-person units. -The Blue Team will select one of those units. -The remaining unit becomes part of the Red Team. -The above is repeated, starting with the Blue Team choosing two units, until all units are picked. -Players who are not part of a 5 man unit will be assigned to teams by the reeves to achieve balance.
Terrain:
The Field contains 3 castles, one to the “north” which consists of two 12’ towers and a gate. One castle is to the “west” which is an 8’ and a 10’ tower and one castle is to the “south” also consisting of an 8’ and a 10’ tower. Castles are considered bases.
Between the western and southern castles there is a river. The river may be crossed wither by using the bridge in the “east”, by “swimming” or by the use of a boat. -A swimming player must walk on his or her knees and may not have any objects in either hand. -Players in a boat are immune to leg shots, and may move the boat across and within the river (not on land) by carrying it. Carrying the boat is considered having an object in hand, and a player moving with the boat is considered to be moving his or her feet. -Players who step off the bridge must immediately drop to their knees and rid their hands of objects, or die.
Between the western and northern castles and intersecting the river there is a Bamboo Forest. -Players may move through the forest freely, but risk being made lost by a wandering reeve. Those immune to the lost spell may move freely. -The forest blocks line of sight and no projectiles can be used through or into the forest. -Players at the edge of the forest may use projectiles and magic at targets outside the forest.
Capture Points
Placed around the battlefield and in the castles are Capture Points. These are markers that show which team controls the Capture point. Each Capture point has a reeve/timekeeper, and each team starts in control of two capture points.
-Any player may switch control of a Capture Point by moving the appropriate teams color to the top of the Capture Point. -Reeves/timekeepers will keep track of the amount of time that each team holds each capture point. -Dead players may return to life after death counts at ANY capture point controlled by their team. -Capture points count as bases for purposes of returning to life and retrieving new equipment but do NOT count as bases for any other purpose. -At the end of the game (time to be specified at the start of the game) the team that has controlled capture points for the most time wins. -Control time of Capture Points is cumulative. Holding 2 capture points for 5 mins each totals 10 mins of control time. -A team automatically wins if it controls all 6 capture points.
Misc.
-No mass spells -Do not run/jump in to the castle walls. Do not jump down from the towers or fight while on ladders. Any unsafe behavior will result in automatic death and possible ejection from the game -Arguing with the reeves will result in automatic death and possible ejection from the game -Cheating will result in automatic death and possible ejection from the game. -DON’T CHEAT
