Rakis Prices & Directions - 2008/06/02 17:07Being new here I don't know what or how much to bring. I've looked over the website for Rakis08 but the information on there left something to desire. So I'm wondeirng:
1) How much is Rakis08 (X per event or X per day) 2) Do I need to bring my own food or is there a messhall/tavern with supplied food or can I just buy it there? 3) is there an address that I can look up on google maps so I don't get horriably lost on my way up there.Sholto Nightseer - lvl1 Scout

Re:Rakis Prices & Directions - 2008/06/02 19:35That depends on whether or not there is a fire ban at the site when we get there. Generally, campfires are allowed ONLY in designated fire pits. If, however, there is a ban on fires, then of course no campfires would be permitted. Generally, we kind of play it by ear up to a couple of days prior to the event.Kord

Let me ask this question once again to make sure that I understand. There is a $25 entrance fee to Rakis for one person? Now that covers the whole timT, or does it just cover the day, what about groups of people do they get a discount? these are just some things that I would like to know. Also, I believe should have been posted on the website or else where!

I have emailed the county office asking about their fordcast on fire bans, when I recieve a responce I will post it here.

Thank you for your e-mail. At this point there are no restrictions or bans in Jefferson County. We will post any updates to our homepage as soon as they occur. However, it is unlikely that our current status will change before your camping trip.

25 dollars gets you in for the whole event it also covers... as it appears... 4 meals

Saturday 8 a.m. Breakfast (provided by Axgar) 10 a.m. JUGGING!! 2 p.m. Three Kingdoms War 5 p.m. Gate Closes 6 p.m. Main Feast, followed by Court
Sunday Castle Break Down, Pack Up, Go Home
*Any times not scheduled will be subject to impromptu ditching and battle games as interest warrants
... so bring food for Wednesday and Thursday...

GATE FEES $25 per person for the event. (Waiting for word on whether there is a discount for minors.)
DIRECTIONS: FROM THE DENVER METRO AREA Take Highway C-470 to Hampden Road/285 South (West) towards Fairplay. After passing the town of Conifer, take the Kennedy Gulch/Foxton Road exit. Turn left to cross back under the highway and then turn left on Foxton Road. Beaver Ranch is approximately 1/4 mile down Foxton Road on the right. Gate is located just inside and down the road a wee bit.

RP TAVERN The RP Tavern is located in the Tipi Lodge. The fun begins on Thursday at 10am. See Cio Cio for info!
SECURITY Security personnel will be on duty throughout the event. They will be identifiable by neon orange sashes. Any questions/concerns can be addressed to Talisin (sirtal@gmail.com). Security personnel are there to enforce the rules of the site and provide safety for everyone. Please respect your volunteers and make their shifts as boring as can be.
FIRES Assuming we are not under a fire ban, fires may ONLY be in the pre-placed fire rings at the site. Doing otherwise is potentially a $1000 fine for anyone sitting around an illegal fire. This was a huge problem last year- please use the fire rings correctly.
PLEASE NOTE: -Smoke only in designated areas and please pick up your butts, render them harmless and throw them away properly.
-DO NOT PARK IN THE “BARK PARK” PARKING AREA. This is a MAJOR cause for complaints from mundanes.
-Underage drinking will not be tolerated. Period.
FEAST INFO
-The waffles for the waffle breakfast on Friday contain: all purpose flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, egg, vegetable oil, milk.
-The main feast will be Chinese themed.
