Votes were physically verified by our Esteemed Monarch Zumat in the NH today.

YAY!

For those who are math-impaired , we had a total of 30 votes in this election- 3 more than the last Althing, and that is AWESOME. Thanks to everyone for participating and using your voices in this election process. I'd love to see this kind of voter turnout (and better) for every election.

IMPORTANT (Not-so-Yay)

At 12:08 last night, I received an e-mail that read a little something like this:

(Numbers replaced with Xs and names replaced with "that guy".)

"Here are the results Xvotes X this guy and this guy Xvotes this guy Xabstain Xvotes this guy Xabstain Xvotes X this guy Xabstain Xvotes this guy Xabstain"

The e-mail appears to have been sent via Verizon wireless (it was an @vtext.com addy) to my e-mail addy. There was no phone number or name that was even vaguely recognizable attached. I responded and have not yet received any reply. The e-mail address does not match any of the PM emails I have on record or have used to correspond with any of the PMs; it also appears that this is the first time I've ever received anything from that address.

Zumat and I reviewed this occurrence and agree that we cannot in good conscience accept these votes under these circumstances for the following reasons:

1. Voting closed at midnight, per the Corpora and announced due date/time. These "votes" were received at 12:08am, after voting was officially closed.

13.A.k.3. The Imperial Prime Minister must receive all proxy votes by midnight of the declared date of the end of the election for them to be considered valid.

The votes were automatically invalid because of the time they were received.

2. Even if we were inclined to overlook the 8 minutes lateness (which I frankly wouldn't be... three weeks is plenty of time to get your votes in), we couldn't accept these votes because we have no idea where they came from. No park was included, so we don't know where to start asking questions, and no sender's name was included.

3. Even if we wanted to overlook the lateness and that we didn't know where these were coming from, we can't verify if any of these votes were from voter eligible people because no voters' names were included.

I don't have any idea if this was an actual attempt to submit votes or someone who just thought it would be funny to watch my head explode, but either way this is a perfect example of what NOT to do to turn in votes. I really hope it was a lame-ass prank, because otherwise someone really should have some serious explaining to do to their park.

If anyone ever has any questions about how to submit votes or what the voter deadlines are, please feel free to contact me.

EDITED to correct my lame spelling.

EDITED to remove marker.

Re:Imperial Election Results - 2008/06/02 01:51 Excellent! Congratulations to everyone who will be taking office come Rakis. It's wonderful to see so many people taking part in the election process. Hopefully this is a trend that will continue for a long time to come! Special thanks especially to Tal for all her hard work in wrangling people together to take part in the voting process. Kord

Re:Imperial Election Results - UPDATE - 2008/06/02 16:16 Well, there's news.

I have been informed by Hoshi that the mystery votes were votes submitted by Axysia on behalf of CD via Hoshi's cell phone. It is truly unfortunate that they were not submitted properly. If anyone is confused about or has questions regarding the requirements and necessities of voting and the PM's role in that process, please let me know. We *want* you to vote, I spend a lot of time trying to *get* people to vote and every person's vote *can* make a difference. If there is anything I can do to help facilitate the process any more than I have, please let me know. (On a side note, if someone could update CD's officers and contacts on the parks page, that would be extremely helpful.)

If anyone disagrees with the above, I'm sure you'll let me know.

Re:Imperial Election Results - UPDATE - 2008/06/02 20:18 Oh boy, there's something you don't wanna hear two days after the election.

My park, my fault. It appears to be dealt with already, but if there are any questions, concerns, rants, venting needs, you feel I need to date your ugly sister because you feel I let you down, etc., I can be reached via email at: vivi_the_black@hotmail.com or by cell phone: 719-671-3002.

I apologize to Korderellin and Azrael as I feel the election could have and would have gone a different way, and I hope to correct this so that it doesn't happen again.

Thank you, Farlore. That is my only hope and goal for situations like this.

Re:Imperial Election Results - 2008/06/03 01:39 My heartfelt thanks to Talisin for posting, emailing, reminding, threatening, cajoling and just about everything else she could think of to get people out and voting in the election!! And for dealing with the headaches and issues that invariably seem to come with that process. It's no fun, but it is such an important aspect of our governmental process, and I'm grateful she was there to handle it with her usual flair and fervor!

Thanks also to everyone who did participate in the election and cast their voting preferences, irregardless of who you voted for! I'm just excited as all get out to see so many folks interested in helping to choose - 30 of 46 eligible is far above and beyond what we've seen in the Empire lately. So very, very cool!

I also wish to offer my sincere thanks to Kord and Azrael, for being most excellent opponent candidates, and helping to make this a truly contested, yet still friendly, election here in the IM. It has been so very long since that has happened, and I'm glad we're able to show the Empire, and Amtgard in general, that such a thing is yet possible!!

Medryn and I are very much looking forward to serving you as the next Monarchy of the Empire of the Iron Mountains, and will be bringing fighting, Empire-wide themed questing, and various (hopefully!) enthusiasm-building goodness.

Please stay tuned for upcoming announcements!

Again, Thank You to all who participated in the election!

(..and a-ha! stupid Joomla board of too-quick timing-out on me every time I do try to post on you, I composed this, the 2nd attempt, elsewhere and copied to you, so you couldn't screw me up again. Pbtbtbtbtbtbt!!)

Re:Imperial Election Results - 2008/06/05 08:05 Farlore this was in no way your fault or problem this was mine and mine alone. I was completely not understanding of when they were due and how I should have submitted the votes. I will not let you take the blame and I would be ashamed of myself for letting you do so. I was wrong and I was wrong for not asking if I was doing it incorrectly. I was unsure of a few things and I should have spoken up and I did not. So please do not date any ugly sisters since I really like Stacy<sp?> and would be highly upset and something went amiss because I messed up. My phone number is (719) 285-8226 which I thought was correct on here. Since Rewth has called my home. my email is mellyniew@hotmail.com or devilishlyhotangel@msn.com (don't ask) . Again Kord and Az I am sincerely upset and apologize for my mistake, please forgive me. at least there is DM Az.
