Takezu is still not a member of MD and has no official capacity to speak for MD. Heck, considering MD requested that no outsiders be there for their vote, Takezu wouldn't even have been present and certainly could not speak of what the results are even from an observer's standpoint. That makes more sense. Either way, Casca is correct, however. Mists officers should have directly informed the Empire of the decision. There is no provision (and no reason) for Mists to inform other parks within the Iron Mountains and expect those people to do it for them. The Mists monarch and PM are the ones elected to speak for their people. In a case like this where there is clearly a difference of opinion, it is very important that we hear your decision from you directly.

Re:imperial weekend report: now with 300% bonus content - 2008/04/09 20:23I dont know if anyone remembers it but earlier in this list I had said that I do not have internet readily available. on the day of our vote bromos called me and asked what the turnout was. I told him, he is the pm of olympus. he informed me that he would tell the right people. now seeing as this vote does not effect the iron mountains directly I figured that it didn't matter what I said on here. if you were not informed by the principality that we were voteing into then that is on them not myself. as I see it we were given an option do as we say...or leave. the vote was for olympus not the iron mountains and definitly not for tal.
oh and takezu is a member of our park I did not ask him to not show up. he would have been in his right to be there and vote like everyone else at my park. he had plans that day though, so if you hear it from takezu you are hearing it from our park. oh wait thats right if you aren't in office you aren't allowed an opinion.

Right. You, basically, asked Starmount and Olympus not to show up. We respected your request.
I mentioned to you in a private email that I wanted to have our parks visit one another soon to demonstrate both our mutual good will and that we could regard our past differences as being water under the bridge.
Starmount was in a position where we couldn't meet both agendas. You all weren't going to come visit Starmount, and we were expected at the same time to give Mists the alone time you wanted to have your vote. Is there any surprise that you came up with the same result?
At least you've saved Zumat the trouble of planning a mediating trip to Minnesota. I'm sure Micah and Talisin both feel a little exasperated, though, as they actually did choose to make trips to try to get that process started, with little success.

You were online a couple of days after the vote. Would it really have been that hard to drop us a quick post? Failing that, you could have asked the PM to do it, or designated your regent to do it.

You are right. He is the PM of Olympus. Regardless of what he did or did not say, it is your responsibility to represent your park, not his.

How does this not affect us directly? We were holding an Althing ballot waiting for your response. We were postponing the vote on the OL principality waiting for your response. Common courtesy would have been to let as know as soon as possible.

There is no principality and it was not their responsibility to inform us, it was your (Mists officers) responsibility to inform us.
You're being hostile and I honestly don't see that it is necessary. It is my job to publish the Althing ballot that was waiting on you, nothing more. I simply advised you that it was up to you to represent your park. Others who might have made the same mistake may learn from it.

Are you saying he officially speaks for your park now? You're not being logical. Takezu said he read it on an LJ. What if that person's LJ had been wrong? If you can't understand why we need to hear this from an official park representative, then I don't know that there's any way I can phrase it that will get through to you.
I am not going to address the "aren't allowed an opinion" part because it's already been stomped to death elsewhere on this forum and is ridiculous. We aren't talking about opinions, we're talking about an official park announcement of an official park vote.

Difference in opinion from that of Olympus. OL wishes you would do one thing, you wanted to do another. It's a little strange that you don't want to be a part of their principality, yet would trust them to speak for you- but again, it's your choice.
