Re:Girls of Amtgard & Casca - 2008/02/10 17:21
Hi Rick,
We still host those A&S nights; however, they've moved from Thursday to Wednesday, and because of the spotty attendance, have become more or a RSVP kind of thing. Casca is a pretty well rounded artisan, so she can probably give some sort of input on whatever aspect of A&S your interested in. If you're working on weapons, we mostly deal directly with Amtgard tech, but I'm more than happy to give you some input on how to make those as well. There isn't a particular focus of the A&S nights; it's more a night for people to come over with whatever projects they are working on and either get some help and input, or use some tools that may not normally be available to them.
As far as changing systems is concerned... I'd highly suggest coming out at least once to see if Amtgard is something you'd be interested in. Our A&S (and game in general) does have a particular kind of culture to it, and so you might want to make sure that the culture is something that would be of interest to you. The A&S nights might give you a bit of insight into some of the cultural side of it, but a regular park day would be a much better indicator for you of what Amtgard is really like. We play pretty much every weekend, so you can choose pretty much any Saturday to come out and, unless we're elsewhere for a special event, you'll be able to find people there (weather dependent, of course... ) We have the Imperial schedule up in the Announcement forum so you can double check and see if there is anything going on elsewhere that weekend. The Denver group (or actually the Brighton group at present) is called IMD.
If you have any other questions, feel free to post them here, and we'll see if we can answer those for you. Thanks!
