Great event! - 2007/06/18 04:58Rakis 2007 was a blast!
Kudos to Kord for (even tho being sick as a dog) pulling it off. Well done man! Thank you!
To all those that helped him out in all the different areas and made it such a successful event , my thanks to you also. I would like to know who was in charge of weather control.
Tho I couldn’t ditch like I wanted to this time, thanks to all the rest of you that welcomed me and others to your firesides. It made for good evenings, meeting and talking with you all.
My special thanks to Axgar for making me feel not so broken. Hope you heal fast.
Congratulations to Rewth for his knighthood.
To all amtgarders who were there, thanks once more for reminding me why I consider amtgarders family. (way to many individuals to name for all the help, support, enjoyable conversations and camaraderie)
You all rock!
Thanks

Re:Great event! - 2007/06/18 13:24It was indeed a great event (even with the Thursday night drama). Thank you to Kord and the IM for such a great time, and thanks again to Talisin and Casca for allowing me to knight Everlast at Rakis. He had no idea it was going to happen.
He and Rewth are a great pair of Flame Knights!

Re:Great event! - 2007/06/19 06:14Thanx to all the people who sang to Rewth for making me feel so young, I didn't know the song "you've lost that lovin' feelin'" Thanx guys."Let me explain this to you once. If I kill you: You will be awake, you will be facing me, and you'll be armed." -Malcolm Reynolds -Firefly "Your puch should begin in the soles of your feet and end in the back of your opponent's skull." -Tyr -Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda

Re:Great event! - 2007/06/19 14:19Bart, it's probably best that you don't know that song yet.
that song is very powerful and is generally reserved for event tent sechs. if you find tent sechs on the premesis then you gather your homies and you sing to the tent explorers until they can no longer continue their union. unless it's Axgar that stuff just spurs him on.

Re:Great event! - 2007/06/19 15:16It does creep out some folk when you start singing along even when you're um... preoccupied. Lotsa fun that. Casca Eruoy

Re:Great event! - 2007/06/20 00:47Top ten things at Rakis good/bad
The good stuff:
10. Lit ditch field & much stickjockery.
9. Questing for us flurby sissies.
8. Being able to drink during the whole event.
7. Everyone who volunteered to cook feasts, drive shuttle, run gate, and doing what ever it took to make Rakis great.
6. Almost no rain & no fire ban.
5. The shuttle & cars being aloud on site.
4. Walking the Wolf Circle and becoming a Wolf.
3. Being the first cub in 11 years of the Wolves to not be caught during the cub hunt.
2. Axgar & Shea renewing their vows.
1. Rewth being Knighted.
Stuff that sucked:
10. Flurbs being whiney crybabies.
9. Stickjocks whining about flurbs.
8. Wakening up after drinking all week.
7. That Rakis is over.
6. Yellow tree spooge all over everything.
5. The damn hill.
4. Knees hurting, as well as a number of other body parts.
3. Sleeping in the cold under a tree to be the first cub in 11 years to out last the hunt.
2. Cleaning up after other SMOKERS!!!
1. Packing up and leaving, sore, tired, and covered in tree spooge.Revelation 6:8 - And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. "Death is no respector of persons, it takes the babe and the mother, the flower and the tree."

Normally I'd say that you only have to fear sex at Glitterbeard's. But with the switch to a video game theme this year, I'd say you don't have to worry about it.

Re:Great event! - 2007/06/21 03:22totally great event, the volunteers did an outstanding job! the best of the best was run smoothly and the competition was totally fierce, a personal favorite of mine was the samori crossstitch, i know that took a very long time to do! congrats to everlast and rewth, when you have so many friends and family teary eyed and happy at your knighting, you know its meant to be. as usual its good seeing people you rarely get to see and meeting others in the world of amtgard. thanks to all xxxooo totem
