Rakis Medical - 2007/06/11 18:18 I’m the Medical guy for Rakis this year. Basically, that means that I’ll have bandages and what not for small cuts or scrapes, and will be 100% sober (or will insure we have a 100% sober person) Friday and Saturday in the event that someone needs to go get medical help, but isn’t hurt bad enough to warrant a trip in an ambulance.

Rakis has a remarkable amount of medically trained staff on hand each year, but remember, none of us are under any obligation, legal or otherwise, to fix you if you get hurt. That means that if you bust your ass and the person or persons who are trained to fix your type of busted ass are either unwilling to help you (unlikely) or way too drunk to help you (much more likely) than you get a free ride in my car to a medical center of some sort, and can pay for your medical treatment like a normal person. To help insure that I take you someplace that accepts your health insurance, please BRING A COPY OF YOUR INSURANCE WITH YOU! It will suck if I take you to an urgent care center for stitches and you get a $300 bill when we could have gone somewhere else that would have only charged you a $30 co-pay.

If you are the type of person who is insured through your parents, at least find out the name of the company that insures you (not the name of the company your parents work for).

All uninsured people, or people who have no clue who their insurance provider is, will be taken to Denver Health for treatment (unless you tell me otherwise).

Anyone with a pre-existing medical condition that wants to can find me at the event or contact me at YerUncleWillie@yahoo.com and give me a heads up. Anything you tell me will be kept strictly confidential. The only people I will talk to about your condition are medical personnel I pass you off to (aka the ambulance crew that come to get you).

As always, wear sun block, don’t drink like an idiot, look out for each other, and be careful on the castle.
