Yield - 2007/05/16 12:27 Does death end the yield spell? Or, more clearly, does death end the 300 count obligation to the caster.

This happened a long time ago, but one of my people was Yielded almost immediatly at the start of a fight. Rather than watch him sit around for 5 minutes only to have their team kill him at the end, I hit him in the back and then ressed him. It doesn't state in the description that Death releases them so I just want to know for future reference.

Re:Yield - 2007/05/16 14:11 yeah, death ends the yield count

per the rez spell all negative effects are removed, but enchantments remain.

Resurrect (S, Spirit)
The dead person is alive again, negating the last death and removing all negative effects on the player such as Yield or Poison.
A dead person cannot move on his own nor speak in order to encourage a caster to Resurrect him. A person that moves from
where they died (barring removing oneself from impeding play) cannot be Resurrected unless a Summon Dead spell is used first.
Will not turn monsters back to human. Monsters created by magic may not be Resurrected. All wounds and damage to
natural armor the dead person had prior to dying are repaired.
A dead person may remain on the field as long as he wishes, but may not affect the battle or impede play. Enchantments
not eliminated by combat effects or not specifically prohibited may be retained by a Resurrected person.

here's yield too, in case anyone wants to look at it.
Yield (S, Control)
C: Bard 5, Healer 3, Wizard 3
I: Repeat x3 'Yield thy arms and resist no longer, come unto me and be my captive.'
R: 50 ft.
E: Victim lowers weapons and surrenders to the caster, moving in a straight line at a brisk walk - until at the caster's side - where they then begin a 300 count. During this spell they stay by the caster's side and cannot fight, cast magic, or use abilities. The caster may free the victim at any time for any reason. If they are not killed before the spell ends, they must return to their base, and are then able to act freely. May not be physically restrained to prevent the player from returning to base or going to the caster. If the caster dies the player remains near the body until their count expires.
N: Other magic may still affect the victim during the duration of Yield.

Re:Yield - 2007/05/16 14:20 Humm I have a question then to add to this...

Can you strike a person in a yeild before they get to the person.. and if so where does their body go?

It says "If the caster dies the player remains near the body until their count expires." so would it stand to reason that if the yielded dies that the corpse would have to stay near the yield caster?

I know this is kinda stupid b/c the answer is obviouse but isn't it fun to play the what if rules game! I love it.. hehe

If the dead person had to walk to where the mage was and sit there, then from what I read under the magic rules last night would mean that any enchantments he had on him would be removed.

Re:Yield - 2007/05/16 20:57 yes you can strike the person & kill them, and effect them with other magics while they are yielded, and no, if dead the person does not move to the caster, death ends the yield

when you die, you stay where you are for a rez, or go back to base and wait 300 count.

if the caster dies before the yield is over, the victim stands by his corpse.
if the victim of yield dies, he can stay where he is and get rezzed, keeping his enchantments, or go back to base and count to come alive in 300 (no enchantment keeping)
