Re:Stuffin - 2007/01/12 23:12 All I know is that my wife can dent pot and pans waking up wakagashira members. Then I have to fix them....

But I am not bitter.....

Re:Stuffin - 2007/01/17 20:45 Good point Rafeki...can I start fighting florentine with a wooden spoon in one hand and chef's knife inthe other? I bet I'd do better. Nimue

Re:Stuffin - 2007/01/18 15:18 no, but you could fight florentine with spinach in one hand and eggs, fish or 'white meat' in the other. Dragoon

Re:Stuffin - 2007/02/19 22:21 Grendel, you are too damn funny what with your puns and all.

So, since this discussion is in the A&S forum, does that mean that cooking can be a legit Amtgard craft? I think it would be fun to cook up some authentic medieval slop...I mean gruel...I mean...well, it would be fun.

Re:Stuffin - 2007/02/19 23:48 cooking is by all means a legit amtgard craft.

there is a Food category as well as a Beverage category in most a/s competitions. whats more, there are feasts run all the frikkin time at events and coronations and they are always looking for someone to tackle them.

i could have sworn that when my soda bread garnered me a dragon one year, but its not listed on my records so i could be mistaken. that said, awards for food tend to be fairly rare, with the exception of roses for the service aspect of making hte food for feasts in the first place.

i can't recall ever hearing of a knighthood based solely or even primarily on cooking, but there area large number of amtgarders that are quite renown for thier skill with it. Fireball, Lief and Roger's Raiders come quickly to mind. (and i wanna say i'm not too shabby either! --grin--)

Re:Stuffin - 2007/02/21 05:42 Hey Nimue, are you going to Salt Wars? I hear they have two more feasts open... Return with honor.

Re:Stuffin - 2007/02/22 16:49 Hmmm...I've been meaning to try making soda bread. And oatcakes. I might even give the mead a try, now that I've had expert instruction.

No, I don't think we'll make Salt Wars. It's far and not at a good time.
