 OT - curiousity question - 2006/04/13 13:17 Okay, I watch the HBO show "Big Love" and a recent episode featured a call to the office of the "Polygamy Czar" as well as a LDS co-worker threatening a FLDS co-worker who is a polygamist with turning her in.

Is that realistic? Would non-monogamists be persecuted or prosecuted in Utah?

The real reason your asking is cause your done with Yoto and want to share the Loptr with Sindari.

The state of UT will not condone our secret arrangements. The LDS church will not persecute us, but the local law will prosecute us.
The RLDS splinter is getting a lot of press due to young kids being married off.
My opinnion is if your a consenting adult it is your business, HOWEVER minors have no business being married off to ANYBODY period.

 Re:OT - curiousity question - 2006/06/21 09:06 Ummm, the RLDS splinter that I belong to (Reorganized Church of....), based out of Missouri and Iowa, doesn't have anything to do with the Utah sects. It's also been renamed the Community of Christ church.

I haven't been an active member since 1985, so I'm not a good expert on things. I've seen the sects that marry off child brides listed as FLDS before, but not RLDS.

I think that Cio Cio is only needing to add the Loptr because the Khanar portion of her man harem is getting to worn out to keep up with her.....
