Directions to Midreign - 2006/09/13 03:55 The event is being held at the Mountain Park Campground in Poudre Canyon West of Fort Collins.

Here are the long-winded directions:

From wherever you are coming from, get to Fort Collins. Take the Mulberry/Hwy 14 exit and turn West.

YOU WILL BE GOING 40 MILES FROM THIS POINT. TRACK THE MILEAGE ON YOUR ODOMETER! You will be staying on Hwy 14 until you reach the site, even though it will twist and turn. Follow Mulberry until you reach Riverside Ave ( immediately after the railroad tracks). There will be signs for the Hwy 14 junction. Follow them by taking a right on Riverside. Follow Riverside till it intersects with College. Continue following the Hwy 14 signs and turn right on College. You will take College out of town. North of Ft Collins Hwy14/Hwy 287 bears to the right. Be sure to follow the signs and take this turn, else you will get lost. After bearing right you will stay on this highway until you come to the next hwy 14 junction. There is a Conoco station on the left `side of the highway that is the only commercial building in the area. If you pass it, you've gone too far. Take a left at the junction and follow the road up Poudre Canyon until you reach the campsite. It is something along the lines of 15 miles. You will be turning left into the campground. Look for the signs for the event that will be along side the road.

Here are the simple directions:
I-25 to Mulberry/Hwy 14 exit.
West on Mulberry
Right on Riverside
Right on College
Bear right North ofFt Fun
Left at Hwy 14 junction
Up Poudre Canyon ~ 15 miles to the Mountain Park Campground
Left into campground

There you go.

there's the website from before - if you click on regional map there's a little map that you might find of interest.

if you hit the Rustic you've gone too far

p.s. the little gas station where you turn left onto 14 used to be called "Ted's Place"

here's a map quest map if you need some more visual assistance.
be aware, when you turn onto 14 from 287 you'll be crossing oncoming traffic without a light & if I recall it's a 55 mph on 287 at that point
so be very carefull

map just go north and west, follow 287 to 14

Re:Directions to Midreign - 2006/09/16 03:16 IMPORTANT NOTE:

I was just informed that there's a discrepancy in the directions provided. Where it reads "It is something along the lines of 15 miles." and "Up Poudre Canyon ~ 15 miles to the Mountain Park Campground", it's more along the lines of 22 to 23 miles.

Hopefully this is of some help to anyone not yet departed.

Re:Directions to Midreign - 2006/09/16 23:49 Thor's signature tag just reminded me of a line from the Avengers 2 movie I rented for the kids last week. Iron Man's suit is out of power and he's perty much dead. Thor comes over and calls lightening from the sky onto Iron Man repowering the life support to his suit. Iron Man takes a breath, Thor stands up Col. Fury looks at Iron Man laying on the ground, then looks at Thor and says "Wow! you really are a God!"
