Imperial Midreign Camping Event - 2006/08/07 23:15To the populace of the Iron Mountains:
I, Dame Cutari Roskara, hereby announce that the dread Lich King Sir Medryn Harlequin-Darkjester DEMANDS you to attend him and his court at his midreign celebration.
The undead hordes will be gathering in the foothills of the great Iron Mountains, and the howls of the damned spirits will echo from the mountaintops.

Ok folks, here it is!
On September 15-17th the Empire will be hosting a camping event to celebrate Imperial Midreign. It will be located at Mountain Park Campground East of Fort Collins, up the Poudre Canyon. There are pay showers at the campground, along with permanent "facilities". The event will open at noon on Friday. I'm afraid that you'll have to fend for yourself for dinner, but on Saturday all three meals will be provided.
Saturday will be packed full of undead-related events, tournaments and games. There will be a zombie-hunt very similar to the ninja-hunt from Chopstock, with prizes for the highest number collected. Saturday evening will be the Imperial Feast, brought to you by our Imperial Regent Sir Lief MacPayne, followed by the Imperial Court. Court will be full of scary ambiance and undead spookiness, presided over by the dread-knight court.

The site opens at noon on Friday, so get there early for the choice camping spots. There are some sites attached to the communal areas (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y147/mrenee/midreign/P1010052.jpg), as well as some very nearby (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y147/mrenee/midreign/P1010097.jpg). The communal area tentpads are for single tents and the larger nearby sites are for groups and multiple tents. Note that all tents must be on an approved, improved gravel site.

I heartily apologize, and will pay more attention next time I post. I was trying to hurry since I was imposing upon Kezgar and Jazzel to use their internet while we wait for ours to be hooked up in our new house. Lets see what I mess up on next time, shall we? First I misspell my own name, and now this. Bets on whether I'll screw up the Emperor's name or call the regent a squire next? Anyone?

The temperature is cooling down and providing us with PERFECT fighting weather. The highs for the weekend are predicted to be in the mid to low seventies, with the nights reaching the forties.
The event begins on Friday night with an evening of fighting and socializing. Saturday morning will find us up bright and early to bring you breakfast. After a morning of games designed by Squire Zumat, a refreshing lunch will reenergize you. Then get your mind ready to unwravel the mysteries created for you by SIR Grendel in the quest. As night falls get ready for an evening of undead excitement with a feast prepared by our own Prince, Sir Lief MacPayne. Finally, get ready to be cowed by our own undead court, presided over by the Lich King, Sir Medryn Harlequin-Darkjester. After the courtly festivities, join us around the fire while we share stories and songs in a fireside bardic.
A detailed, hour-by-hour schedule will be posted this weekend.
So, come one, come all. Join us in the mountains to celebrate the midreign of the Lich King and his court.

This Just In: Reports of a small village in the Mountains of Madness nearby the midreign festival site have been whispering "Danger!"
Almost 4 months ago our Imperial Prime Minister/Paranormal Wizarding Advocate traveled to the small village of Wallachia to investigate their lack of response regarding Imperial Taxes. I was sent to investigate his disappearance, what I found was disturbing, to say the least.
Madness has rooted deeply within his mind, during my inquisition he was taken to bouts of conversation with someone or something no one else could perceive, yet he was certain existed. His physical appearance was unkempt, his mood and manner alternated between poles of excited mania & catatonia. I suspect the river water may have become.. spoiled.
I was able to discern the following:
hundreds of years ago there was a mighty lord who ruled over Wallachia, rooted deep in the mountains his keep was inpenetrable. His people reflected his own manner, they were caring and inventive, his name was lost to the winds long ago. This lord reigned for many years in peace, until torment beyond my imagination was visited to him and his subjects. a Black ichor akin to a living ink spill wove it's vileness through the whole river, and in only a few short days the villagers had all disappeared without trace of their leaving, except for a single cleric who's corpse was discovered locked inside the church, apparently he sought solace in his faith by locking himself inside it's benevolent walls & perished from starvation. It is reported throughout the next centuries that the former Lord of Wallachia has been seen on special nights nearby the river.
According to the Prime Minister this darkness is growing again, having been called to action by the recent rise of evilness that sits upon our Imperial Throne at this very moment
Greater evil is not known around Wallachia than the river, they travel at least a mile up stream to gather their drinking water and wash their linens, and engage in a yearly ritual to cleanse the river, led by their local Witch Doctor.
Again, villagers have begun to disappear, reports of blood splattered rocks alongside the river have been confirmed, I myself saw such stones.
I call to thee, great defenders of this mighty Empire! Come to the midreign festival to solve this mystery and finally cleanse this grotesqueness from our lands!

Details: In the Dead of Night (midreign quest) on Saturday at midreign questors come prepared, you will all be on your last life, so start developing a plan - might I suggest some high level healers? >: ) Bwahahahahaha!
You'll be meeting up with the Imperial Prime Minister to begin your quest, there will be fighting against monsters, roleplay, riddles, puzzle solving, and fighting of monsters!
