Earth Bind - 2006/07/20 19:58 Earth Bind
I: Repeat x2 "May mother nature bind thee."
R: 20 ft
E: Victim cannot move until each of his legs are struck ten times with
a slashing or bludgeoning weapon. . Anyone attempting to free
the victim must state "free this leg" while doing so or the hits
strike the player as normal.
N: May be used while moving.

K, so I read this over and over last night and realized that by the writing of this the victum cannot move period. It does not say cannot move his legs but his arms are ok ect. It says "cannot move".

It further emplies that outside help is needed to be freed by stateing "Anyone" rather then "the victum or someone else attempting.."

This means that the victumn is effectively entangled without the imunity to damage that the Entagle spell grants,..... indefinately......(or until someone on thier team frees them).

right?

Re:Earth Bind - 2006/07/20 20:23 technically yes, you are reading it correctly. the intent of the rules was "can not move feet" though. hense the reason this issue is going beforeh te CoM at clan this weekend.

pretty sure this question will be null and voice by the end of that meeting. in the mean time, as IM GMR i'm gonna be a dick and clarify that the victim may attempt to free himself, jsut can not move his legs. (and can also defend himself while in the effect). mainly because i know that was the original intent. "until further evidence is provided" which will basically mean tht it depends on the final changes approved by the CoM.

Re:Earth Bind - 2006/07/20 22:34 here's the relevant entry. the list is super long so i know a lot of folks didn't botherreading through all of it.

· Earthbind spell: Pg 22 Earthbind Change “E: Victim cannot move until each of his legs are struck ten times with a slashing or bludgeoning weapon. . Anyone attempting to free the victim must state .free this leg. while doing so or the hits strike the player as normal.”
To
“E: Victim cannot move legs until each of his legs are touched 10 times with a slashing or bludgeoning weapon by anyone attempting to free the victim and must state "Free this leg x10" while doing so. Two legs cannot be freed by the same person at the same time. Strikes to a leg from players not attempting to free the victim count as normal hits to the leg.” (EH)

the key change is "can not move" to "can not move legs".
but it also adds that you can not free both legs at the same time. both are pretty useful changes and i believe medryn will be voting in favor of them.
