Kiln, or somthing like it - 2006/06/22 16:21 i just had somwhere between 50-100lbs of brass fall into my lap ayways, i got a forge/crucible furnace outback ( it's a convertable ) but my last ceramic crubible died last year. i know how to form a decent crucible, but i have no proper kiln to fire them. i have heard of crude kilns being a hole in the ground filled with greenware and wood to fire it and i am curious if this would work, or even if i could use my charcoal furnace itself to fire them. any of you with any experience in this your input would be appreciated Yes, hate me, hate me with all your being and let the hate flow through you!

Re:Kiln, or somthing like it - 2006/06/23 12:15 I would go find a local ceramic supply store and ask them to fire it for you, that or go to the local community college and ask the same. It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it. --Aristotle

Re:Kiln, or somthing like it - 2006/06/23 12:55 depends on the person. Some might even do it for free if they are really nice. It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it. --Aristotle
