Transfering... - 2006/03/25 10:01 Okay, Where I used to Live (Salem, OR) they had a book to loko through while at the park... and I never found out where to buy the books for Amtgard.... are they just guides from online websites or something? (Feels pretty stupid at the moment)

And I haven't participated in over 2 years, because it took me a while to find where You all met, because I had no idea where anything was and had no car *smile* so is there a way, by attending, I can catch on, and not feel like a bumbling idiot as I participate? *grin*

Re:Transfering... - 2006/03/25 22:20 Well I am sure that someone should have a rulebook at any park you go to. Its free online in the files section of this site, or if you want a printed copy (and don't want to kill an ink cartridge in printing your own) you can become a dues paid member of your park (5 buck for 6 months) and you get a rulebook for "free".

What park are you going to?

Re:Transfering... - 2006/03/26 12:59 true true. Well, I went to Washingto Par Yesterday, and left after seeing nobody there for over an hour. I came home and found out that they were running late, but I guess it was all for the better because I forgot the waiver thing. I plan to go next weekend((Wondering if it's still going to be at Washington Park even though winter is technically over now)) and check it out. My old Amtgard group wasn't very organized, and barely anybody had garb, etc. including myself(sorrowfully), and I want to see if it's more organized ,etc. I wonder. Is the sash just a piece of cloth of a certain color wrapped around your waist?

I feel like I'm asking stupid questions, but better o ask them now than feel even more stupid when I am ill-prepared and can't participate.^^

Re:Transfering... - 2006/03/28 18:38 We're pretty much set on Amtgard Standard Time, so while we may say noon, most people don't start showing up until 1 or so.

As for Wash Park, we will be there for the next couple of weeks; we'll be switching to our summer park right after midreign (so April 21st is our first day there). April 14th is midreign, so we won't be at the park that weekend.

As for garb... Technically, a sash is a specific color fabric around the waist. It can also be worn baldric fashion (shoulder to hip). We tend to be lax on garb standards, although most of us do show up in garb (even if we don't have specific garb for our classes).

Feel free to call if you have any questions. I am the duke currently, so I can answer anything you need (hopefully). My number is 720-989-8768. Or you can always call Medryn, as he said.
