Award Recomendations!!! - 2005/03/28 20:01Greetings everyone!
Well as some of you might have heard Midreign is quickly aproaching, and what I think will be my favorite part of being duke happens at midreign...I get to give out awards!
I try my hardest to watch for people doing stuff that should be recognized, but obviously I cant be everywhere at once, and I dont see everything. SO!
If you've seen someone being super cool, acting really nice towards everyonce else, if you've noticed that someone's fighting has improved alot since they've joined or the last time they got an award for it tell me!
There is a list of awards in the IM Corpora on the NEW IM website

I don't think anybody cares... The best thing to do is not "shoot" for anything, just do what you want, have fun, and get involved. It's your and Kayden's job to 'notice' things. What we think really doesn't matter. If you are looking for recommendations, I'd say talk to certain people in private. Because it's really not tasteful for anyone to post a recommendation to a public list. It will only cause an argument in a public forum, which we don't really need.
If you want to, ask people while you're at the park. You'll get a much better 'return' on your investment there.

Re:Award Recomendations!!! - 2005/04/05 11:29dunno. i see the thread as useful. but, i think he should have requested it be locked. it's an announcement that he's looking for input. but it doesn't need to be a discussion.
when i was duke i requested and recieved a large amount of input oon awards. no matter what you do, you can't see everything. in the nh this is especially true of new garb n the like. with the large influx of new players, there is a lot of things that can go un noticed. a lot of things i agreed with, a lot i had already taken note of, a lot of things i disagreed with. but, i paid attention to every part.
edan, as a side note: while duke, i kept a file on my laptop. Good/Bad List. just like santa. i'd make changes to it every week, noting things htat were cool or not. it helped remarkably. when it came time to decide on awards i had a reminder sheet of things to consider. if you aren't already doing so, i highly suggest it."But right now I'm a little concerned about my pants, since I don't know where they are." - Valathina Nailo

Re:Award Recomendations!!! - 2005/04/05 14:42I'll tell you why he made this
I told him it would be a good idea, per corpora the Imperial Monarch has to do this:
6.A.q. Shall solicit a list from provincial leaders of proposed recipients of Imperial level awards not less than 30 days or more then 60 days before Mid-reign or coronation.
I figured it would be good if Edan also reminded the populace of the NH to contact him with any recomendations they might have for his review. he's not required to do this, but it was a thought I had that I figured might be helpfull to him.
also Obie, he did put on here to "Email him" with recomendations for awards

Re:Award Recomendations!!! - 2005/04/05 21:46allow me to say that I agree that edan did a great service to the NH by asking for recomendations. Made me think and e-mail him. But thats my 2 yen.
