Weekly Report: August 13-19, 2006 - 2006/08/16 21:15 Greeting members of IMD!

This past weekend was a good one at the park. Choosing to remain at our usual meeting place ended up being the best course of action, since we got two of our newer player out on the field fighting with us again. School is starting, so some of our players will be settling down for another school year and those pesky vacations that get in the way of regular park attendance should be ending shortly. Along with school, however, comes football practice, homework and other various things to prevent folks from coming out. So, I'd like to remind people that Amtgard is a GREAT stress reliever, and a couple hours out in the sunshine every Saturday is a good way to take a break from your schoolwork. Get a bit of fresh air, get your blood moving again... good for the soul and even better for your body.

This weekend promises to be a great one. Although there are thunder showers possible, the high for the day is supposed to be 75! An ideal day to come play and not get overheated. Zumat has been pondering on ways to help our park, and has promised to devote time this week to constructing loaner shields. Hopefully this weekend we should have a few out at the park so no one has to ask to borrow another players equipment- everything you could want is already there and ready for you!

Our weekly A&S night drew a good turn-out with various projects being worked on. Casca was demonstrating how to prepare a standard belt blank to be turned into a braided belt while Phred was trying out a lemon-rosemary chicken recipe.

Next weekend will be a busy one. Dragonmaster and Weaponmaster are being held at IMD, so artisans from across the IM as well as our best fighters will be coming together to show their stuff. Be sure to come on out and participate! If you'd like any pointers on either tournament fighting techniques or have any questions on the best way to enter the A&S portion of the event please feel free to ask us- that is what we're here for.

Finally, imperial midreign is fast approaching. September 15-17 we'll be camping in the foothills outside of Ft Collins. It is shaping up to be a great event, so come on out and see what camping events are all about. If you have any questions, or need someone to talk to your parents about it, we can do that- just ask!
