Proclamation from Duchess Cutari Roskara - 2006/07/29 01:01
Hello to all the members of the Duchy of The Iron Mountains! As some of you may know, your lovely regent River Blackhand and myself are autocratting the first Imperial Midreign camping event the weekend of September 15-17. Now, you ask, what does this have to do with me? Simple: although we are autocratting, we would love this event to be run primarily by IMD'ers. Not as a snub to any other lands in this great Empire, but as a teaching experience. IMD is full of old-schoolers who have been running this game off and on for years and recently, due to the efforts of Kezgar and Zumat, we have been given a new lease on life by the new blood that has been brought into our park. We have copious numbers of new players who are excited about the chance to learn about every aspect of the game. This is an ideal opportunity. We expect this event to pull somewhere between fifty and seventy five attendees. A respectable number, but not one large enough to be daunting to a new player who is trying to learn the ropes of event-running. What we are looking for are older players who are willing to take new blood and show them how to run a particular aspect of an event. There are plenty of options. We need help with gate, war events and tourneys, the feast and other various tidbits that go along with this. The theme is tied in with our dread Emperors reign of terror. There are undead crowding out the living denizens of the Iron Mountains and it is all the warm-blooded folks can do to stay alive. We're looking to make this event small but intensely fun. We're talking things like night-time glow-stick battles, zombie-leg tourneys, assassination tourneys to see who can kill the monarchy, and other fun but silly things the go with the undead theme. We're hoping to convince each group in the core to sponsor a feast and try to out-do each other. Because the numbers we are expecting are so small, it would be easy and rather inexpensive for the individual lands to do a feast apiece without breaking the bank. It also allows for some friendly competition to see who can out do each other. The one thing we're waiting on to post details on this event is the site. I'm going to chat with our Emperor tonight or tomorrow to choose the site, and from there we can get cracking on getting a schedule put together and get it out to the rest of the Empire. So, I'm asking each of you to help us teach those that will be playing this game for years to come. If you can only help in the smallest way, great. Anything will help. Both River and I will be at the park tomorrow to talk about what areas we need help in. Please, come chat with us. Thank you for your time, And thank you for keeping this game great - Duchess Cutari Roskara
