Althing Discussion - Proposal #1 - Change to Champions responsibilities RE: Weaponmaster - 2010/05/10 15:40 Proposal 1: Change 19.A.a. from

19.A.a. Weaponmaster will be an Imperial fighting tourney. It will be open to all and will be run
by the Champion. The events for this tournament will always be Single sword, Florentine,
Sword and Shield, Open, Great Weapon, and Two Person Teams. Restrictions on weapon
length will be the same as with the Crown Quals tourney in the Single Sword, Florentine,
and Sword and Shield categories.

19.A.a. Weaponmaster will be an Imperial fighting tourney. It will be open to all and will be organized by the Champion. The events for this tournament will always be Single sword, Florentine, Sword and Shield, Open, Great Weapon, and Two Person Teams. Restrictions on weapon length will be the same as with the Crown Quals tourney in the Single Sword, Florentine, and Sword and Shield categories.

Rationale: Currently, under the Champion section of the corpora, it states that it is the responsibility of the Champion to organize the Weaponmaster tournament. This section explicitly requires the Champion to run the tournament, rather than just have responsibility for it. In some cases, the Champion may not be the best person to do the actual running of the tournament. This change brings the two sections into agreement and allows the champion to take ultimate responsibility for the tournament, but does not require them to be the one running the actual brackets.

Re:Althing Discussion - Proposal #1 - Change to Champions responsibilities RE: Weaponmaster - 2010/05/10 15:50 This proposal does not appear to have any specific procedural change; rather it appears to merely clarify wording to ensure that the buck stops with the champion regarding the tournament, but allows for room to have someone else step into running it if the champion is otherwise indisposed/unavailable. I would recommend this change, as it is another step in allowing us to streamline the corpora and remove conflicting passages. Kord
