imperial weekend report: cut me some slackers - 2008/05/13 00:59
Nihao y’all,
Damn, this last weekend was stressful as hell for my imperial self. Between a last minute scramble to get crown quals run and choking back the urge to dismember my malingering consort, I am amazed it went off at all.
(The malingering thing is a joke, so breathe; I’m just annoyed at the bad timing of quals.)
However, some very groovy people stepped up to the plate and hit that curveball right out of the park. Many thanks to Medryn, for running the fighting tourney, DTM and Temujin for reeving said tourney, and also thanks to Grendel, who brought the laptop with the tourney software on it.
You guys were a lifesaver.
Super-duper thanks supreme with sour cream to Totem, who stepped up and ran the A & S part freeing me up to judge because we were short on judges (otherwise I’d have been in front of the other computer trying to figure out how to make quals work) and that was rough because there were a metric shit-ton of entries.
And as far as I can tell, everyone qualled. More on that below…
Oh, and while I’m on the subject of thanks, and I have a little more time, I’d like to thank all of South Gate, specifically Torgoth, mostly for keeping his pants on, but also for organizing a feast for us while we were there. Thanks also to Loup and Axgar for letting us crash in their home. And thank you to SG as a park for making Us feel welcome and really getting into the spirit of shinobi rice war. I’m sorry these thanks are late.
Anyway, about quals:
I have the scores and comments here with me, but I don’t actually know how to send them to the people in quals. I mean, gimme your email addresses, you guys who participated in quals, so’s I can send you these things.
So now that you know it IS a contested election, get your asses off the couch, or WoW, and come vote. Do you have any idea how rare a contested election in this kingdom is?
You get to be part of it, and it would be silly to let it slip by with only 6 people voting.
Jump in, because right now I’m really fighting burnout (I feel must admit this to you guys), and as my energy flags you guys can help enthuse the new guys by just telling them what you want to see done, and making them actually campaign for you.
I wanna see real campaigning with, like, mudslinging and shit.
