Re:Rivermoor Coronation Fall 2008 - nerd notes - 2008/10/02 19:05
Though the moon is just a sliver in the sky, a hunter's moon will grace the heavens soon. Many in the lands of Rivermoor who sleep lightly, (or those who simply aren't abed!) hear horn echoing through the woods surrounding their lands and homes. Dogs bay and howl and hoof beats circle the town. Those who are called by it feel a tug within their beings - the desire to run, flee and chase. The time of harvest is soon.

How does the Hunt work?
For those of you who've not taken part in a hunt before, the rules are simple. Cerrenos will hunt the denizens of these lands. Those who evade him before he has admitted defeat are rewarded.
This year, Hwesta has found a white stag, a noble and magical being to add to the enjoyment for hunters and hunted alike. The stag is fleet and powerful. Anyone who can capture the stag will be granted with a boon that will serve them over the coming winter.
Hwesta has also hidden a magical shield within the woods. Whomever finds this artifact will be able to enjoy its protections as their own personal loot.
The lands of Chalco are said to be home to many other beings, giants, goblins, dryads, and perhaps even dragons. There is no way of knowing what other hazards await those who hunt these woods. Only the bravest and boldest should venture forth!

Actual Amtgard RULEZ!!!
You are welcome to play any class you are eligible for. If you would like to play a monster class, you may not play any monster that is a higher rating than 2:1. Monster levels must be played at the level of monster you have obtained, and of course appropriate write up and garb must be used.
Relics are allowed. It doesn't matter what park you're from IT, QT or GP - if you have a relic from a Rivermoor park you can use it. (So we might have 3 homestones on the field, etc.)
Good deaths and excellent role-play are rewarded with things like shortened life counts and even free lives.
To win the "boon" from the white stag, you must be the person to land the killing blow upon it. It is very similar to a white rabbit as far as rules go. The "boon" may be used within role-play (for example, "I want to be awarded the title "lord of the dance!") or within game play at this or a future RM quest event "I'd like a free life for everyone on my team." Fair warning - the way you word a boon may be open for interpretation!
The Shield of Stone is a pretty groovy relic. It provides the wielder 4 points of Stoneskin, and is treated as an improved shield even after the stoneskin is gone. It will be hidden somewhere in the park. It is loot able - so if a monster has it, it can be looted from them. But beware; it can be looted from you! If you wish to make it (or any of the other relics we'll have during the reign) yours alone, that can be accomplished, but that's something you'll have to find out through (gasp!) role-play.
The wandering monsters will also have loot that you can take from them that will benefit you in this or future quests. Once again - use your eyes and ears, because we're not gonna tell you everything up front, you're gonna have to figure some stuff out!
questions? Comments? Concerns? Volunteerism? Contact me at 712- 256-4694 or at rahlyns@... or the park - I'll be at GP Saturday for Riversance and IT on Sunday!
