New Class. - 2007/03/14 00:41 How do I submit a written battle game class to add to the current ones? "Let me explain this to you once. If I kill you: You will be awake, you will be facing me, and you'll be armed."

Re:New Class. - 2007/03/14 01:13 you don't.

seriously.

you REALLY REALLY REALLY don't.

but, if you must, you would submit it to the Iron Mountains Rules Rep (Medryn) for inclusion at the next monarchs vote that allows rules changes as opposed to rules clarifications(which this year is not). The CoM would the consider the proposal and immediately vote it down. i mean... um... vote upon it and if it passes by 70% it is included in the next revision of the rules.

instead... you should consider writing it up as a monster or an archtype and submitting it to the Amt7 Expansion Group. if it is good, balanced and fits the theme of a book we are working on it will be included and published with that book. if you do not wish to join the group, you can send it to me via email and i will work with you til we can agree on a final version to submit and i will submit it to them for you. most likely, directly to the editors of the most appropriate book. the end result is a monster that is optional for use and not official (yet). but can be played pretty much any time a GMR/PM will approve it in a monster game. that or an archtype that is really just a roleplaying guide to playing an existing class as something else.

the reason i highly suggest that you do go the archtype/monster route is that new classes are EXTREMELY unlikely to make it to the core rules at any time in the foreseeable future. a new class must be unique and not something that you could achieve with a little roleplay on an existing class. it must provide a new/unique battlefield role too. meaning that it can't duplicate an existing class's place on the field with different abilities. and it has to be balanced. across the entire gambit of amtgard. in the hundred or so alt-classes i've seen since joining Amt7, i've only seen 2 or 3 that even pass the first requirement i listed.

oh... and dont' even think about creating a new spellcaster class with its own spell list and a dozen new spells.

Re:New Class. - 2007/03/14 02:41 I only wrote five new spells, but they are as Trap is to Earth bind.

okay, I will need a list of people in the Expansion group or your e-mail. But I definitely want credit for this, I have been writing it since I joned in `03.

Oh, and I would like some help on the weapons and weapon costs.
