Tunic - 2008/05/07 01:15 I am pretty absolutely sure that there is a thread about this somewhere in the depts of this forum, but I was wondering if someone could give me some tunic making tips so I can get some garb started.

Re:Tunic - 2008/05/07 04:45 see thats the problem i dont really know...something that would be large enough to put a belt around and have a little frill on the bottom...with short sleeves and an emblem

Re:Tunic - 2008/05/07 14:31 A good way to get the basic idea is to take a comfortable T-Shirt and fold it in half. Trace the t-shirt out on a double folded piece of fabric, and then flare out the base and extend it to the desired length for the below-waist portion. Cut it out, and you should then be able to sew up the sides and shoulders. You'll have to figure something out for the neckline and what not, but that should give you at least the desired shape of the tunic. Kord

Re:Tunic - 2008/06/17 22:32 tip: assuming your skill level is high enough, do a flat felled seam (a french seam works as well) on the sides and the shoulders. they are much stronger and will extend the life of a tunic remarkably. (those seams are the type you find on the sides of the leg on a pair of bluejeans)
