soft sculpture - 2006/07/09 12:18 eep! don't hurt me, i'm new here

my friend keeps nagging at me to check you guys out, cuz she thinks my hobby would be of interest to yas (and she thinks i'd like amtgard if i went)

i design/create/sew soft toys (plush toys)
been doing it since 2001, and i do it on a professional scale (you could say it's like my professional hobby)

my gallery is here >> http://hondahead.deviantart.com
i don't display everything i've ever made -- i do have some much cooler stuff in a physical album/portfolio (over 300 dolls & things)

ack! i hope this is posted in the right spot

*runs away*

Re:soft sculpture - 2006/07/09 19:54 They're so cute!!! And I don't think I've ever seen a plushy entered in an A&S competition... ^-^ It would definately be nice to see though. You should go out to your local park and get to know everyone, you know, kinda dip your toes in, and if you like it you can hang around ^-^.

Re:soft sculpture - 2006/07/10 08:53 i think you should definitely come out to amtgard and see what you think of our game. if i'm not mistaken you are down towards Darkmoon in Colorado Springs. I've yet to make it out to darkmoon myself, but i'm being pestered to do so very soon, so we may run into each other in the near future.

a also happened to see one of your three headed dragons on the 4th of july. and hell yes, there are numerous folks that would findthose interesting. the one i saw was all kinds of cool. the more fantasy monster related they are, the more you'll find an interst in amtgard and the better they'd score in a crown quals competition.

Re:soft sculpture - 2006/07/14 14:21 We've got a gal who's a dollmaker and has entered "soft sculpture" in events before - I think one may have won.

Re:soft sculpture - 2006/07/14 15:03 Yep, Gabriella's Amtlegal Scotsman (He was about 12 inches tall, with florentine short swords, if I recall correctly) beat out the spiral bead necklace I made you for Dragonmaster, about 18 months ago.

Her dolls are published and shown in national magazines and exhibits. They're pretty nifty!
