Midreign Camping Event INFO! - 2006/08/29 03:50 Three weeks and counting!

This event is shaping up to be a fantastic weekend! Some of the best minds in the Empire are working together to come up with new and exciting games for us to play.

SIR Grendel has created another mind-bending quest to challenge the most stalwart of questing parties.!

Test your skills against your opponent in "Holly-Warlord Squares"!

Come and join us for a weekend of undead fun in the foothills!

The site opens at noon on Friday, so get there early for the choice camping spots.
There are some sites attached to the communal areas (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y147/mrenee/midreign/P1010052.jpg), as well as some very nearby (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y147/mrenee/midreign/P1010097.jpg). The communal area tentpads are for single tents and the larger nearby sites are for groups and multiple tents. Note that all tents must be on an approved, improved gravel site.

The site features many permanent facilities including a stone "house" with a fireplace that we can cozy up to and share a song or story during the bardic to be held Saturday night after court.

The site also has pay showers for those mortals who feel the need to wash the stench of death from them after a day of battle.

The Poudre river runs right below this site, so you can relax in your tent and be lulled to sleep by the rippling waters below you. That is, unless the banshee are out in force. In that case, you'll be lucky to sleep at all.

The event will be $15 per person for the weekend. This covers your site fee as well as all of your meals on Saturday.

So get the time off work, save the date, and come join us to revel in the undead majesty of the Lich King and his minions.

Re:Midreign Camping Event INFO! - 2006/09/07 22:43 Midreign is less than two weeks away, and we couldn't be more excited!

The temperature is cooling down and providing us with PERFECT fighting weather. The highs for the weekend are predicted to be in the mid to low seventies, with the nights reaching the forties.

The event begins on Friday night with an evening of fighting and socializing. Saturday morning will find us up bright and early to bring you breakfast. After a morning of games designed by Squire Zumat, a refreshing lunch will reenergize you. Then get your mind ready to unwravel the mysteries created for you by SIR Grendel in the quest. As night falls get ready for an evening of undead excitement with a feast prepared by our own Prince, Sir Lief MacPayne. Finally, get ready to be cowed by our own undead court, presided over by the Lich King, Sir Medryn Harlequin-Darkjester.
After the courtly festivities, join us around the fire while we share stories and songs in a fireside bardic.

A detailed, hour-by-hour schedule will be posted this weekend.

So, come one, come all. Join us in the mountains to celebrate the midreign of the Lich King and his court.

Re:Midreign Camping Event INFO! - 2006/09/13 03:57 The event is being held at the Mountain Park Campground in Poudre Canyon West of Fort Collins.

Here are the long-winded directions:

From wherever you are coming from, get to Fort Collins. Take the Mulberry/Hwy 14 exit and turn West.

YOU WILL BE GOING 40 MILES FROM THIS POINT. TRACK THE MILEAGE ON YOUR ODOMETER! You will be staying on Hwy 14 until you reach the site, even though it will twist and turn. Follow Mulberry until you reach Riverside Ave ( immediately after the railroad tracks). There will be signs for the Hwy 14 junction. Follow them by taking a right on Riverside. Follow Riverside till it intersects with College. Continue following the Hwy 14 signs and turn right on College. You will take College out of town. North of Ft Collins Hwy14/Hwy 287 bears to the right. Be sure to follow the signs and take this turn, else you will get lost. After bearing right you will stay on this highway until you come to the next hwy 14 junction. There is a Conoco station on the left `side of the highway that is the only commercial building in the area. If you pass it, you've gone too far. Take a left at the junction and follow the road up Poudre Canyon until you reach the campsite. It is something along the lines of 15 miles. You will be turning left into the campground. Look for the signs for the event that will be along side the road.

Here are the simple directions:
I-25 to Mulberry/Hwy 14 exit.
West on Mulberry
Right on Riverside
Right on College
Bear right North ofFt Fun
Left at Hwy 14 junction
Up Poudre Canyon ~ 15 miles to the Mountain Park Campground
Left into campground

There you go.
Any questions, email me.

Re:Midreign Camping Event INFO! - 2006/09/16 03:15 IMPORTANT NOTE:

I was just informed that there's a discrepancy in the directions provided. Where it reads "It is something along the lines of 15 miles." and "Up Poudre Canyon ~ 15 miles to the Mountain Park Campground", it's more along the lines of 22 to 23 miles.

Hopefully this is of some help to anyone not yet departed.
I am Thor, and you are Not.
