Re:armor for barbarians - 2005/11/04 12:23 Whoa, take a breath there. Barbars are usually best in leathers or heavy cloth armors, historically. You can use chain and just take a hit on the points, but you're better off with a good studded or heavy leather. Leather scale looks good on barbs too. There are lots (and I mean lots) of sites out there for leather armor making. I suggest starting with the Amgard Armorer's guild at http://www.pegasusvalley.com/armorguild/ . There are some good examples of armor made specifically for our game. Good luck! Khanar Ekorn-Svarta

Re:armor for barbarians - 2005/11/06 13:54 Another good one that I've used is to look at the leather stores for "hair on" leather, or what used to be called (under some wayback past version of the rules) hide armor. I picked up a couple of hair on antelope hides to make a vest out of when I played Barbarian and I think it made a very snazzy barbaric looking piece of armor. Plus, a simple vest pattern is an easy piece to put together that isn't TOO time consuming. There's a pic of me in it with my fuzzy pants and horns that makes the rotation on the frontpage.
