Re:Colors - 2005/10/03 09:17 in amtgard there is no official way to register your herladry, device, crest, whatever (yet. if i can get the disk space that might change). bout hte best you can do is get your pm to list it on your ork record, and get artemis to list it on im heraldry site (see the link in the left hand menu).

it is considered poor form to use a device that someone else already has chosen, but it happens, and hte rules don't specifically forbid it.

Re:Colors - 2005/10/22 14:16 Can we register the same heraldry we use in SCA? Have a problem with my name and title; there is a mundane Baronet Paisley in Scotland- I usually just use "Captain" instead. And does Amtgard really stick with the heraldic rules? Ive seen more color on color than I care to count (See the crest for the Kingdom of Neverwinter for a great example of heraldry gone bad)
And what does IM do for the more remote types of perfectly period but otherwise ignored heraldry; like that of the Mongols, or Native American heraldry, for examples?

Re:Colors - 2005/10/22 20:37 Re: NW's heraldry
Orange upon yellow? **makes barfing motion** Though in heraldic terms they're both "gold". What cracks me up is that the orange and blue match -exactly, mind you- the orange and blue of the University of Florida (known locally as FU) You should have seen some of the really spiff stuff we passed on when we voted: Things unique to Florida, and special to the local groups. Instead, we got an unoriginal symbol and a less original name. Se le vie
Now, IM's heraldry: You guys rock! Unique, visually appealing, and not everyone elses phoenix on a feild of whatever.

Re:Colors - 2005/10/22 20:57 The IM's Heraldry is great. But down in florida. It is pretty much as their name. ..Never-winter, hence the big sun. Some people feel that adding the Phoenix is good as the phoenix is Amtgard's top symbol and more or less represents amtgard.

As for me If I had a say I would have made NW heraldry with a big red sun, and yellow field
