Re:any help for a lv one assassin??? - 2007/05/11 05:14 I beleive the requirement is that all projectiles must not be able to pass through a 2-1/4" diameter ring, maybe its 2-1/2". "Let me explain this to you once. If I kill you: You will be awake, you will be facing me, and you'll be armed."

Re:any help for a lv one assassin??? - 2007/05/11 07:02 A blow by any part of a throwing weapon, boulder or rock counts as a
hit; so all parts of these weapons need to be strike-legal. Javelins must
strike point first to count as a hit and cannot be used to slash. A javelin
must be legal for melee and have padding along the entire shaft. The
tips of all projectile weapons must not be able to fit through a 2.25 inch
ring. Projectiles, with the exception of javelins, may not have solid
cores. Materials you may use for projectile cores include foam, sweatshirt
material, and other soft, non-granular and non-rigid materials. Pennies,
batteries, sand, and the like may never be used as cores.

Except for javelins, projectiles may not be used to parry, block, or melee. There is no limit to the number that can be carried.
Weapons not listed here and that do not fall into these categories may not be thrown (i.e. you may not throw your sword).
Non-javelin projectiles that are not bearing enchantments or class abilities are indestructible. Projectiles that are affected by
enchantments or class abilities (not to be confused with class Traits) may only be destroyed by spells or magic balls. Note: Magic
components thrown in combat (magical balls, etc) must follow the same safety rules as projectiles but must remain spherical and
are not considered ‘projectiles’ for other purposes.
I. Projectile Weapons
All these weapons do one point of damage to armor and may be blocked by weapons without penalty. Rocks hurled
two-handed will deal two points of damage to armor, but otherwise behave the same.
A. Throwing Weapons - Throwing knives and axes, shuriken, etc.
B. Rocks - Must be at least 1 foot in diameter.
C. Javelins - Between 36 and 72 inches long and may be used as a thrusting weapon in melee.

Re:any help for a lv one assassin??? - 2007/05/11 20:32 One good technique I use for thrown weapons is to take about 6 inches of foam pipe insulation (the thick stuff, so it meets the width rule) stuff it with a tightly with a heavy cloth like denim for weight, cover it in grip tape, then have at it.

If you want to make big shapes, just attach more pipe insulation inti somthing like a "T" shape.

Keep in mind I haven't made a thrown weapon since you were allowed to use sugar to weight them (which

Re:any help for a lv one assassin??? - 2007/05/12 02:50 also note that pipe insulation does not meet the minimum diameter required for throwing weapons anymore. it was nice while it lasted, but i'm fairly certian it was never completley legal to begin with. now its spelled out perfectly. 2.25 diameter ring for ALL tips. Re:any help for a lv one assassin??? - 2007/05/14 21:55 use D-Cell Batteries!!

J/K, just a joke around Olympus...

I get 3/4" tundra insulation foam with the self-adhesive edges, take about a 6-8" chunk and stick it together. Back when it wasn't illegal I covered the seams and bottoms with duct tape and filled it with salt. However, you should now use rubberbands or rolled denim as mentioned earlier. Tape the top/bottom/seams with duct tape, and affix large squares of open cell foam to the ends for the classic dog-bone design (can't remember the dimensions off the top of my head). Take larger squares of fabric to compress the open cell on the ends and tape it to the insulation with athletic tape for a cleaner look. Make sure there is enough open cell to pad the ends and to cover your 2.5" diameter for the ends.

I've been trying to access a digital camera to make a tutorial for these. Once I do I'll make sure it gets around.

Re:any help for a lv one assassin??? - 2007/06/05 02:34 Don't use any duct tape. It hardens during the winter, also the adhesive has been known to become brittle at a freezing temperature. I used some cloth I had left over, they work pretty well and they have more weight than the foam.

p.s. If you make giant Naruto shuriken I wanna see a picture of it. I've been joking with Kuma about making one of those things.
