Activity? - 2006/04/18 20:39I don't pretend to be an expert on Amtgard - really I know next to nothing about it, hence my being in the New Players section of the forum right now - but I'm wondering just how active Amtgard really is around here.
When I say this, I'm wondering, really, if all people are doing is just ditch battles, or if what seems to be the true purpose of Amtgard is truly being lived up to - proper scenario battles, full-scale war...
I just don't know. But, I'd really like to get some opinions on it: what is the state of Amtgard?

Re:Activity? - 2006/04/18 20:58that depends... where is "here"? the iron mountains stretches over multiple states. the state of amtgard, as you put it, in each region is different, the state in each chapter is different as well. some are more ditch crazy, some are more into scenarios/battlegames. but for hte most part there is a pretty even split in each, you'll often see a little of both at each one every day."But right now I'm a little concerned about my pants, since I don't know where they are." - Valathina Nailo

Re:Activity? - 2006/04/19 06:37Well, "here" in my mind is Colorado Springs, as I live here. But at the same time, I wonder about all of Colorado, the farthest reaches of the Iron Mountains, and every other Kingdom.
Basically, I'm just curious as to how you all feel about how Amtgard is going, overall and specifically, nowadays. I suppose that's what I want, anyway. Unless you have something prevalent to say, shut up. If you don't know what prevalent means, cut out your own tongue.

Re:Activity? - 2006/04/19 07:47I'd have to say that it's thriving out in the Eastern Provinces. We've got 5 very active groups currently in the PRP, with a couple more petitioning, and the poor people in Illinois have to make some serious choices on a regular basis as to which events to go to (this weekend is the Principality Midreign, hosted by Sir Garik and Starmount, and also Discord in St. Louis, one of the RW's main annual events). When it gets hard for players out here in the boondocks to decide where to go cause there's so much to do, I think that Amtgard is pretty healthy!

Re:Activity? - 2006/04/23 16:51Another thing to take into consideration on this subject would be the person who is the champion of the park. The champion runs the basic game days so it is up to him/her as to whether or not you would concentrate on ditching or battlegames, or quests, or scenarios. In keeping with what Rewth said, this can change from park to park.Rico Autocrat SW6
